Anybody tried grounding your TA before ?

Understand that grounding will be more efficient on bigger cc bikes, but I'm just curious on what effect will it have on TA200. Maybe I shall try and DIY one day, but before that ust to check if anyone who has did it ?

Bro, after grounding, electric current will flow better. Your lights will be a wee wee bit brighter, for my side, with the stereo on, the voltmeter reading is slightly higher than before.

According to UFO, he claims it has a big impact on mileage due to better ignition of spark plug. I find this untrue for my own bike though but share if yours has the same benefits after. :thumb:

hi bro... welcome to the big family of Knights...

Regarding your Q, think you can try checking out some thread... think the fuel consumption and mileage thingy many people ask before already...

Engine Oil is on own preference... but it would be good to use Fully Syn. Regarding the brand... Test as you use... Once found the one you like then stick to it...

To my infor, TA200 custom 4 user manual (English Version) is still not out yet (correct me if i'm wrong)...

Hope this will help...

Hi Bro

Thanks a lot for your reply .

I did read few threads on the fuel consumption , but still not clear , what is my understanding is high power petrol is less millage , but in prevoius threads our friends told V power still have better millage .. confuse leh ..

Regarding the manual if you happen to come across the english version manual please mail me @ [email protected]

Thansk again for your time ..

1) New Phantom bought this year in May, FZ plate --> yes, its the new "Custom4" model

2) Full tank capacity is 11.2L include reserve

3) I dun't ride a Custom4, but I'd reckon the light is off during normal use, and lights up when your fuel is low; i.e. into the reserve tank (final 2.68L of your 11.2L)

4) I'm not too sure how to do the grounding, but this is something that is easer to learn if somebody shows u, rather than go thru a lot of description here. IMHO, not really necessary for a stock phantom, though.

5) Petrol alone does not determine mileage, road conditions, how u ride, pillion, box load etc are also factors. Try different petrols, and monitor your mileage to see what suits your bike best.

6) EO usage is a LONG LONG LONG story... try to do a search... I can't summarize everything in a few sentences here. Try this link. You'll have to dig a bit, but the info should be there

7) As yet, there is no soft copy manual for the Custom4. However, I believe some Knights have compared the hardcopy Custom4 manual with the old TA200 manual; and there doesn't seem to be much difference. TA200 manual can be found here.

8) As yet, I don't believe any Custom4 owner has managed to duplicate that key.

9) Yishun bike shop? I dunno  coz I stay Bt Batok

I'm a custom 4 rider myself, and sorry to say the key have not been successfully duplicated by anyone yet, because of the special locking mechanism, so you better pray hard that you don't loss the key, else you likely you need to change the entire locking system...

Question:

Since yesterday i found some oil stain on the chrome cover below the seat on the left side (while sitting on the bike), its on the inner part closer to the engine block, did anyone encounter this before, is this normal? Is my engine or carb giving out oil stains or is it because the bike is wet and when moving, the water stain that carry some oil was flown there?

the chrome cover below the seat, on the left hand side covers the air filter...

but u r tokking about the one on the left of the bike beside the engine is it?

anyway, clean up ur bike (esp engine area) and see if the oil leaks thru the gaskets... where ever the stain is just clean up the stain first and see if it leaks again after a short journey...

Your chain is probably too tight. When tightening the chain, make sure you sit on the bike while its being done. Without the load, the chain may have been ok but after you sit on the bike, it will be slightly tighter and therefore the grinding sound.

Posted

oic.. okok.. i see.. but too tight will not cause anything to happen right.. cos i go tightening chain i juz ask the mechanic do without sitting on the bike..

Yar same as wat smart reply, too tight my friend.

With load & without load there is a different. You got to inform the mechanic 2 sitter or single sitter.

The free play shld be abt 1-2 cm after rider & pillion weight are in.

Remember hump & port hole may bump your bike lower which will cause your bike to stretch your chain further. Ended to sprocket or chain extension.

If while riding on the road, try to notice other bikes' chain.

(Warning to your ability only, still got to keep your eye on the road & traffic),

If you see chain running like snake (wavy) that is lose.

Bouncing up & down, That is worst :slapforehead:

The chain shld be running into the rear sprocket smoothly with a little allowance.

Loss chain will consume more petrol & bike pick up will be affected.

Of course the denger is there if the chain were to drop. :help:

oh ok.. i see.. okok.. i take note of that when i going to tightening chain again... thanks...

Wondering if anyone can help me out on this....

Recently find my TA200 lacks power (as in have to really turn the throttle very high just to hit 90km/h). Thought it might be due to EO & plug. So manually changed the plug first. That was last week. Didn't help much with the power issue. So decided to change the EO and plug and went to Dr Koon's shop this Tuesday. Changed EO & a titanium plug. After changing the EO and plug the engine seems smoother when its running but it still lacks the power. In fact, when I was on 5th gear, I find the engine power very weak at around 60+ km/h and suddenly, as if there's some power surge, the engine suddenly have a boost of power. Nonetheless, I still need to really turn the throttle alot just to hit and maintain 90km/h. At 100km/h my bike is like dragging at max liao. Anyone kind soul can help me out on this? Have anyone experienced similar situation? Thanks in advance!

So you think its due to tuning?

Was wondering, if plug not tightened enough will have this problem?
