Hi all , i'm still a p plate rider not so sure where to ask for help so decided to post here. I was travelling from enous towards tampines and i wanted to take the highway entrance somewhere near ubi . there was a traffic light with two rows of lights , one is the usual red amber green , the other was the same , only tat is was shown as arrows pointing right , which was the direction towards the highway entrance.

Being an inexperienced rider , i wasn't sure whether i was allow to turn right towards the highway entrance when the row of colours turn green but the arrows remained red. A car inched out forward and i followed blindly shortly after that . after some time the car moved off and seeing that there was no other incoming cars , i followed shortly after that . It was only when i nearly finished the turn when the arrow turned green then i realised that i was supposed to wait for the arrows to turn geen before i can turn :giddy: .

Now my main worries i might get caught doing that cause when i went back to check another day , there was a red light camera behind me . I'm pretty worried that the camera might have mistooken me as beating the red light and took photo.

P plater rider - 12 demerit points + $300 are very painful things , especially i got my license not even a month yet  . I would greatly appreciate anyone who enlightens me . Thanks!

usually the camera only works if it's pointing towards you in the opposite direction on the other lane right , if it's behind me would it take photo also?..

actually if you wanna go back to the scene, you can check whether the sensor on the road extends to the right-turn lane(s).

Usually the camera sensor is after the stop line. Its also black, but of a different texture compared with the road tar. ie. black lines after the stop line.

So it is quite visible if you are moving very slowly or stopped.

I don't guarantee that I'm correct, about all these. I only came to this conclusion after noticing that junctions without redlite-cameras don't have these black lines after the stop line.

Yes, That's right. The angle where the direction of traffic flow they wanna capture... The cam can't simply capture everything from one angle.

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

i gt problem too.....just now...when the light turn green..i move off..den suddenly stall...but den i cant start off my bike till itz oredi turn red..by the time...i oredi in front of the pedestrian crossing.....so i move back.....will i get demerit points for dat..?

Posted

Probably not, as the red light camera take 2 pictures to see your first position after you cross the line and compare that with the 2nd position.

If the 2 positions are about the same then it show that you are waiting at the junction and not speeding pass the junction. That what I think, can someone give a better explaination.
