For the RVF, one thing's for sure: This bike make is young; it came out later than when the CBR, ZXR, and GSXR were manufactured. Plus, the fact that it was a redeveloped sportbike with many value added race-bike features, and also a powerful V4 engine -- all contributed to the high value and selling price of it.

CBR -- i'm not very sure. Probably it's still popular amongst the masses? Gotta ask the firebladers on that one bro

CBR n GSXR i belive is juz the different in brand.. wic means parts available.. and the reputation.. e.g. most ppl have a mindset that Honda bikes have better lifespan..?

Why izzit bike manufacturers don't make 400cc Sports bike anymore?

I need one for trackdays. If don't make anymore, i guess have to be 2nd hand.

And what bike is good? Hope there's good condition ones:confused:

Your 2 cents guys, thanks!

I THINK the cost of brand new RVF is much higher compared to CBR, that's why the difference. Then again, RVF came with all the adjustable fork n shocks.. Engine-wise, I think V4 is harder to build. Maybe that's why? :)

how abt the ninja zxr400???

ZX4 - The best bike in class 2A. Period.

Used to ride one until i crashed it. Better in every aspect than my current GSXR400. Except that I love the howling distinctive sound of the GSXR400.

But when it come to petrol consumption, I think the CBR400 is way ahead of the rest. Full tank can last 300K. Can see the difference when u go riding wif ur CBR400 frens up north. But its sound and power in stock condition kinda disappointng as compared to ther rest.

RVF while not as powerful as ZX4 and GSXR400 on the upper range, it more than make up for it for its handling and insane mid range pull. But not suitable for guys with long legs due to its compact chassis.

Just my honest opinions and views on the bikes in this class. Each has its own plus points.Cheers!

IMO, nothing to do with the features or engine. Its just the brand name that decides the price.

the older the bike is, the higher it's depreciation.

brand and demand. if compare a cbr and gsxr of the same age, cbr will worth more than a gsxr.

I believe if you have everything combined here, all of ya will have more-or-less valid reasons as to why the current prices of the 4 sportbikes stay that way.

chikyblink: Sometimes, the features and the way the engine is designed, not to mention its roots in racing/winning 400cc races as prototype bikes -- contribute to the price of the bike.

Yes, the selling price would be higher when the bike is new, but I believe the reason why you came to this conclusion is probably because you've got yearly depreciation into account -- where you might have assumed that all of a sudden, demand for a particular brand overshadowed the features=price of a bike.

This might probably be true for Class 2 bikes, but for 400cc sportbikes in SG, this is a different story.

I'm merely answering the threadstarter's question here, where he compared 3 400cc sportsbikes.

I'm sure many would agree, no matter how pimped up the GSXR is, the value would nvr exceed the other 2 Honda bikes. :cheeky:

But this only applies to class2A bikes imo. Class2 however, the features and accessories makes more of a difference.
