ayubowan!

i was in Colombo, LK for 2yrs 2 months, just came back to sgp 2 months ago. :)

Ayubowan. Thats really cool to hear. Did you see any CBR150R when you were here. There are only 25 CBR150R's imported here. All are 2006 models and only a couple of them in circulation in colombo. I have only seen 3 except my one in the road.

This is serious problem. U should not DIY, in my opinion. Either ask the bikeshop to clean it for u, or get a new tank.

This really is a serious issue. I don't think there is any way to manually clean the inside of the tank. Only small hole from below if you remove the filter assembly also there are a few tubes going through the tank. Really sorry about your situation. :(

hmm quite a few times actually!

my site is at Galle Rd, just beside Crescat Residences / Cinnamon Grand Hotel. At least 4-5 times I saw a CBR150R passed by from Galle Face direction going to temple tree. :)

i didnt know there were only 25..... :cheeky:

so normally don't go for this kind of procedure ah

bro. COI highly not recommended when the bike is going to be still under the seller's name. nothing's going to guarantee that the owner will not put u aeroplane, be it when:

- u r still paying installments for him & he decides to repossess the bike (he is the owner so he has the right to do it)

- or after u finish clearing the installments & he decides that the bike is his to own.

paying lawyers to bring yr case to court based on whatever piece of black & white paper (both self drafted or lawyer drafted) u have is going to cost u more than the installments u have paid up.

my recommendation is get full cash & clear the remaining installments on the bike then transfer the bike to yr name. if not, i rather u get another bike direct frm shop.

either way gives u more assurance that yr money is not going to end up in the drain.

:goodluck:

btw anyone knows how to clean the internal of rusty fuel tank? :(

mine is badly rusted, i guess the previous owner bought from the workshop, which has been storing the bike away for ages without fuel.

im just scared its going to clog my carb

if really wan to diy, i would do the following:

- remove entire fuel tank

- drain out all remaining fuel and store in non-contaminated metal container (caution: gotta do plenty of sucking via the fuel suction pump to get remaining fuel out for this one)

- remove fuel suction pump found connected directly to fuel tank

- remove fuel cap

- bring the entire fuel tank home to wash w/ soap etc to get the petrol cleared

- sand away rust using fine grid sandpaper (i reckon we shouldnt bother w/ rust removal products since we are going to soap them away at the end of the day, prior to pouring the petrol back into tank. we dont want contaminated petrol.)

- clear out rust powder w/ soap and water

- ensure tank is fully dry before assembling back fuel suction pump + pour back fuel + close fuel cap + fix back onto bike

the above w/ the assumption that there is no chance for water to enter yr fuel tank again in e future. w/o water, there shouldnt be chance for rusting to occur again.

:goodluck:

wah..i guess it depends on whether the pricing includes the fuel tank as well? :cheeky: will look weird if the fuel tank color mismatches the rest of the fairings right?

i tink we can start some mass order for fairings already

but the price is really :giddy:

with the new fuel tank estimated at $260 by areal, really makes it a tough decision to choose between new paintjob (including patch up broken parts of old fairings) versus new fairings + fuel tank.

:sian:

i personally prefer stock paintwork. easier for replacement during accidents (touchwood).

Haha,Cbr fairings very expensive.Dont you think everfit fairing price is overpriced? Its almost over $500 for full cover set,the workshop i went to charge me at only $450.They told me they would get the stock fairings and airbrush for me plain black. But im still confident i can get it at even cheaper price.

The thing is that, Everfit parts r confirm new set came out from Thailand factory. How about the workshop that offer u cheaper price? U will nvr found out where it comes from.

Just think about it this way, how many local dealers bring in Thailand Honda parts into Singapore? Boon Siew, Everfit, Chong Aik. Even the three of them often corporate with each other & most workshop get their Honda parts from these 3 dealers. How is it possible for a single workshop that, let say, import in a single set only for u can get a cheaper price than the three dealers? Unless the 3 of them mark up very high margin.

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

I dont get u. Do u meant, Boon Siew didnt import Honda parts from Thailand? If that is what u meant, I would say u r wrong, if my memory didnt fail me. The fairing part that Norisha get from Everfit through Zed, was from Boon Siew. As I said, if my memory fail me, it means Im wrong. Can clarify it with Zed.

hahaha..yeah i got a shock when i heard the tank cost 260..

but the fairing comes plain (eg.solid black)..u know that right? so its gonna look a lil weird if the whole bike got stock stickers and only one patch is empty..

according to everfit, stock stickers cost like..15 bucks per piece and must wait 2 mths for orders to be shipped in

..new paintjob would cost maybe 700? the upside is u get a flashy bike but the next owner (if any) might wonder if it was used to cover anything (eg.bad accident) :(
