Hi guys, I looking to buy my 2nd bike as a cbr150r but would like to know the common problem so that i could/try prevent it. A friend said the cbr150r has a fatal flaw but cant recall what it is...

 

to confirm these detail?

- 40km/L is average or ridden hard?

- is it stressful for the engine to cruise at 90km/h(current bike is stressed to hit 90km/h)?

 

My bike shop quote 5.3k everything in? good price?

because i want a 2b bike that is good for cruising at 90. my wave cruise only at 70... i dont really care about top speed...

 

I'm a relax(barely open throttle type) rider.

 

I thought some rider claim cbr150r can hit 160km/h ? rider weight?

fatal flaw? besides the lack of kick start, i also curious to know

 

eway commuting at 100-110 km/h usually gets me above 40 km/l with a record high of around 47 km/l.

worst fc ever (100%-whack street riding) was a shocking less-than-35 km/l tho.

 

bike smoothly reaches 90 km/h at 7k rpm, beyond 7k still very amenable apart from an increase in vibration, reaches 100 quite easily too.

imo bike starts complaining at speeds above 120 km/h, so never pushed it further..top speed must ask collectees or thisisme liao

 

the previous owner of my bike got it 5.6k excluding insurance at asphoon, but bike production quoted me 5k last year..? 5.3k sounds about there

i tink each model of bike have got it's own flaws, i.e. there has got to be smth that pple find unhappy abt, be it the design, topspeed, acceleration, etc.

 

for the honda wave u own, it is the top speed & limited ability to play w/ clutch (excess engine brake when u down gear even w/ blipping of throttle).

 

for cbr150, i feel it is the tensioner (which can be replaced easily). modify the air filter abit & the bike can cruise at 90-100kmph easily.

 

$5.3k seems like a decent price w/ insurance coverage etc all in.

by the way, how much is the machine price?

From what i know almost all bike with automatic cam chain tensioner have this problems including the reliable drz...

solution is mcct but there no mcct for cbr150r rite?

if there's 1 flaw about my cbr 150, it has to be the bloody fork/yoke/handlebar.

stock can cruise 90kmph no problem, just that it becomes more pleasurable w/ modified air filter

juz like how the wave can become more pleasurable to ride w/ modified exhaust

mcct = manual cam chain tensioner.

 

My wave using Leo Vince exhaust, only difference is acceleration improved abit but top end is the same. best part is looks and sounds good.

Ken forgot to tell you... after i change tyres.... problem slightly reduced... so suspect bumps formed on the tyre contribute to the wobble.....

 

needless to say my whole centre piece is a basket case.... everything loose already.... including handle lock....

 

but............. bike still moves!!!!!

thanks for the info. maybe the timing chain is slightly loose, so no matter buy what will not solve. but i just don't want to open the crankcase to change yet.

I hit 160 on the CBR 160 meter... obviously optimistic meter... probably was at 130km only...
