No la... some people like to keep hiding behind the keyboard keep shoot shoot shoot.... so best way to resolve just meet up lor. Anything misunderstanding can clarify in person....

But usually those people whom i see in forum talk alot and flame alot one... actually they very quiet in person... haha... some of them actually quite ok...

So ya la... no point keep ding dong here and there make the CBR thread messy.

????? huh what u talking about.

who got flamed in the "phobia" thread?

certainly not me.

dear bro xxxratedxxx, i'm referring to ur reply to the previous question posted by quadro.

quadro asked about changing brake pump kit, and ur reply was

And brake pump kit.... well i have to ask.. why u need such a strong brake?? Going racing ah?:cheeky:

this is what i referred as flaming.

changing the brake pump kit is a repair/service to the original brake pump.

what does it have to do with wanting stronger brake?

i feel ur comment is giving misinformation to quadro.

what if quadro's brake pump needs servicing and his/her pump kit need replacing?

then quadro will remember ur comments and think the mech just want to carrot him.

yes, i come to this thread to ask questions about cbr150.

i understand this is the correct place to ask?

so here is my question:

Q: The front brake of my fiance's cbr150 seems kinda abrubt.

[its like press a bit no brake, press a bit more suddenly strong brake.

not smooth, not gradual.]

is it normal?

i notice the brakes are similar to the nsr150.

and from experience, the standard nsr150 brakes are easily locked.

no such problems when changed to brembos.

i believe good brakes' benefits not only for racing.

a smoother, predictable stronger brakes which are not easily locked is for safety.

Ya.... from the way quadro describe it sound like the mech want to carrot him.

But anyway don worry la... quaddro is a big boy, he knows my style! :cheeky:

In any case.... boo ****ing hoo... this is the internet, not everything should be taking seriously online, only some info from certain trusted individuals. if you don't like, you may ignore or flame me back in return.....

But in any case its ok.... let's try to help you instead of arguing...

so here is my question:

Yeap... mine is like that also.... must press in gradually to achieve the brake "makan point" and then the bike will start to stop. That's why i use alot of engine brake to compensate for this.

I'm fine with it cos i do not wish to have such strong brakes till the wheel locks.

If i need to stop in a hurry, i use a staccato braking technique, which is to brake release brake release very rapidly to compress the fork and then apply brakes.... so far i have found this to be a very effective method in stopping in aa hurry for our bike.

If you are truly concern, perhaps you could try to flush and top up brake fluid and change brake pads while you are at it, i changed mine front and back for $50 at GnG motor @ Defu Lane 10. Lasted me an entire year and still going strong! :thumb:

And if that is still not strong enough for you.... pls change to BREMBO ASAP. Although i may recommend a cheaper alternative in oversized flower disc brakes.... but must see if our rim can fit or not.

But if you ask me, Its the rider, not the bike.

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Why you need a sport clutch??? Go racing ah???

You can spend more money also.... there is a approved pipe finally for our bike.... only $800!!! By leo vince.

But if you ask me, i will say... bo liao jiak pa liao!:cheeky:

$800 can do major servicing and overhaul for our bike!

hello my friend. im guessing your name is eugene. so shall i address u as eugene? my name is Kenneth and before i go on, welcome to our little family. =)

u see eugene...... if u wanna make the CBR150 a performance bike, u will probably end up spending a hole in your wallet and at the same time risk all the legal (or rather illegal) consequences of those modifications.

If speed is your cuppa, then maybe a 2-stroke bike will be more suitable for u. of course, I'm not saying that 2 stroke bikes are bad or what. just that each bike has its gd points and bad points. the cbr150 has 1 gd point and that is its fuel consumption. u can ask majority of the guys here and they'll tell u how big their smile is whenever they refuel at a petrol kiosk. the smile even goes 1 round around their head when they pump at JB, me included.

well, i dont know much about 2 stroke bikes so i shall leave my comments to a minimum. all i can say abt 2 stroke bikes is that they're waaaaaaay much faster than us 4 stroke bikes. but of course, litre for litre of fuel, we can definitely travel further.

and even when there is now (FINALLY) an aftermarket pipe for our bike, the shop owner (ask Chris, he knows which shop) only brought in 1 pipe and reason being, most cbr 150 riders are either ah peks or malaysians. :sian:

so yeah... pros and cons. I will be posting up an outing soon. do look out for updates and if your schedule permits, we would most definitely want to meet u, fellow cbr150 rider. and of course, we welcome all classes of bikes, all makes, all races (NOT RACERS), all sizes/shapes, tall or short.

Keraking u are definitely most welcome to join us too. xxratedxx is just more outspoken and jovial but all the time he means well. so just take his comments and jokes with a pinch of salt alright? if u dont have a pinch, i have a whole jar at home. ;) make love my friends, not war.

ride safe everyone.

seems to me a lot of discussion over a lot of "nothing" hahaha... here's to just providing solid feedback on questions related to servicing, fixing and upgrading bikes as well as tips on riding properly and safely (plus some other less bike related stuff). Anyway, thumbs up for the contributions by all the CBR150 guru's, always ready with technical support! Keep it up guys...

PS: Weather is better here now, finally some decent touring weather, even took out my summer jacket and gloves, woohoo!

especially mr xxxratedxxx.

i'd like to apologise for loosing my humour.

often times people get worked up when talking about things they're passionate about.
