hi..im a cbr150 rider too...would like to share my current prob with you guys...

last friday i was at geylang, my bike could not start, then i walked to geylang lor 34 there to ask for assistance at asia motorsports solution, and he asked me to tow/push the bike here, so i decided to push the bike just to save the $30, after checking he say my batt die already and need to change. so after changing it managed to ride till yest, i start my bike then have the light but no sound...just some electric charge sound, after several tries, not even a sound come out.....i checked with the same shop, he say that could be the wiring problem or rectifier....now i want to know the range cost of checking the wiring/changing the wiring/change the rectifier and other necessary stuffs....

i feel the bikeshop may not be qualified enough, espcially since they didnt managed to fix the problem earlier and merely recommended u the easy 'solution' of changing to a new battery (but still doesn't get the problem fixed).

to test whether rectifier is working properly, just need to use multi-meter to tap on the output of the rectifier. if it's working properly, the readings should be gd. simple enough.

rectifier is located on right hand side of the bike hidden behind the rear right plastic fairing. not too sure abt the pricing of a new rectifier though.

:cheeky:

if rectifier's not working properly in the 1st place, then cant blame the battery for not holding enough charge to help u start yr bike~

:goodluck:

is this redex thing more suitable for bikes w/ EFI than carb?

i notice it says Petrol Injector Fuel System Cleaner.

do u have the breakdown in price for the 2 parts?

a new maintenance free battery from LAB costs smth like $38 if i dint remember wrongly. this $38 battery is 4amp while the original battery on our bike is 5amp. but it's good enough to get the electric starter working.

:cheeky:

i feel there is no need for u to change the battery again. since the new battery u got from the con shop at geylang could help u start yr bike the few times after that, why would it be too 'small' to continue it's job after u get a new coil?

Behind say carburettor also can.... anyway tested it today and felt not much difference in riding... throttle slightly more responsive but that's about it.... no increase in power.... I just use it to "clean my carburettor".. if it even does that at all...

wah sunday ah?

any clue if the workshop will be ultra long queue?

definitely need them to install e rear tyre for me :p

thanks xxxrated....anyway any good place to change EO, SP and serviced cbr150?reliable and cheap 1...

cheapest is DIY.

hehe

workshop-wise..i tink there are a few at pioneer sector. not too sure abt their reviews though. usually price cheap doesnt mean quality good (though the reverse may not also be true all the time as well).

unique motor has a branch at toh guan rd.

You stay jalan bahar... i duno of ny workshop around that area is good. All i can say that, if you want cheap... don't expect too good, if you want good... don't expect to cheap...

A good way to tell is how many bikes are queuing up to get service... As Don mention unique motor is reputable for good servicing, but price wise they are not the cheapest.
