talking abt brakes, is there a way to adjust the rear brake pads so that it is closer to the disc? so no need to step so hard to brake...

dont think it's possible to do such adjustment w/ the stock setup.

at best, u can adjust the angle of the lever so that it kind of suits yr foot/ankle better.

the next area u can look at is to get stainless steel brakehose. it gives a somewhat firmer control over the brakes as it doesn't create any expansion of the rubber hoses (stock) when u apply brakes.

im guessing that both issues are caused by the same part. unfortunately, it's a long & tedious process to trace the faulty part. backfire is due to excess fuel. excess fuel could be due to fuel that is not fully burnt off or due to over-feeding of fuel into the bike.

if fuel (assuming it's fed at correct amount/ratio) is not fully burnt off, issue could be with ignition system. i.e. spark plug of incorrect rating, inconsistent power supply from charging system.

if there is over feeding of fuel, it's somewhat easier to trace the issue to carburettor or faulty fuel pump. specifically for carburettor, it could be contaminated/dirty or poorly tuned.

i usually suggest trying out the cheapest option 1st. so as a 1st step, consider getting the spark plug replaced. get the mechanic to examine the plug after it's taken out. check for signs of over feeding of fuel. also check whether the plug is of the correct rating. the heat rating can be read from the print on the plug. e.g. NGK CR8E. our cbr150 uses plugs of heat rating 8 on stock. so get a new plug if the one that's taken out is not a 8. but, if the plug is already a 8, then opt for a new plug of lower rating. e.g. 7 or 6.

let us know e results after trying out e above.

don should i wait and get the cbr150 2010 ?

actually, are the newer cbrs really sold in spore already huh? i've only seen cbr125 so far. maybe try calling up the larger vendors like Mah Motor, Boon Siew, etc to check out.

general issue with getting bikes that are not already common is the lack of spare parts availability. this is proven so far for the cbr125 that's released like 1-2years ago. i think spare parts for it are still not widely available today. :faint:

talking abt design, i feel the newer models are fabulous~

hey guys, got a question.

is there difference of the bike (like engine, f/c etc) for different year of make, say 2003 and 2007?

side crankcase color is different

frame color is different

rear swingarm color is different

mirror is secured using 1 versus 2 bolts (hence it affects the bracket holding the front fairing + the front centre fairing)

speedometer background color different

other than the above cosmetic differences, dont think the technology used has changed much.

besides the usual maintenance, u've got to plan to fork out a lumpsum for COE renewal (if u do intend to renew + ride to camp) at the end of 2years.

riding to camp or not also has to depend on the rules within the camp. some actually disallow their pple from riding in.

Hello guys! It's been awhile since the CBR150 community last had a gathering or a meet-up session to share knowledge on the bike, talk cock and sing some song...

As previous gatherings has always been held in the East, this time round we should be fair and "cater" to those staying in the west. Don't worry, Next time we will have one in the North or South.

Date: 5th March 2011 (Saturday)

Time: 7pm onwards...

This is definitely an event not to be missed. You get to know "insider tips" with the old birds like Don.

For those staying east side, Shaun and I might be meeting up first. You can join and ride along with us towards the destination.

For more info, please call contact Willie @ 93392567. Once you have reached, you might also call this number.

Thanks! :cheeky:
