hehe... very busy lately... with work and other things.

up until the last weekend I was getting ready for the motard races. Don't think the motard will get ridden much until the next races now.

Now that's done I'm gonna strip the fairings off the 929 and send them in for race fairing moulding. Will be without fairings for 6 weeks

Gotta finish getting it ready for track session next year. Race fairings, and lap timer and the main items I want now. PCIII USB would be nice also.

Going to a motard gathering this Friday night at Yishun damn. Was gonna suggest maybe the CBR150 riders come down and try to get my gf to come along but she's lazy coz we've got an early ferry ride Sat morning. Anyway, will only be there from 9-11pm. Dunno if anyone else is interested and I'll be riding the KTM.

hey chris so what will a set of race fairing be like? why do we need another set for track use? as in what is it about race fairings that make it so special and also expensive?

Actually the race fairings are usually simple fiberglass or carbon fiber/carbon kevlar composites. The main reason for using them is that they are CHEAPER than new original fairings and stickers and enable you to keep your original fairings in good condition for when you decide to sell off your bike. They are usually also lighter and don't have headlights etc, or will have a simple single headlight (to make them road legal). Race fairings are also usually a single seater and do away with the pillion seat. It's all designed to minimize damage to your original parts WHEN you fall at the track. I say WHEN rather than IF because if you go to the track regularly you will fall at some point but it's much better to learn the limits of your bike there than on the road. The ones that Vector 1 are producing (see the Race Fairings made cheaper thread in the On the track section of this forum) are a very affordable alternative. If they don't already have the mould for your bikes fairing they only charge $350 (unpainted/unfitted) and if they do it is $750 (still cheap in comparison with other available options).

WIth bikes like the CBR150 the original fairings/plastics are Thai made and therefore pretty cheap/affordable so race fairings are not really required unless you want the race replica look or a single seat.

I think it is fair value at RM180 - some other riders in this SBF can get even cheaper some say RM70, others - RM75 :giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

Anyway, the TT900 are made in thailand. :lovestruck: :lovestruck: :lovestruck:

Do note that there is also a Japanese made TT900 which costs more.

The Thai ones are fine though but don't last as long which I actually feel is a good thing because they stay nice and soft and sticky for the entire time you have them on the bike.

i overlooked the fact that the fairings for bigger bikes like yours and alex's are pretty expensive. probably more than $750 i guess.

cuz i was thinking along the line of the CBR150R where the entire set of fairing probably cost $300 plus.

however, think single seaters fairing mould are considered non-road-legal right? only single seater covers are considered legal, correct me if i'm wrong!

I'm not sure about this one actually. I thought they're ok so long as you don't attempt to take a pillion by squeezing them into your single seat area. Still a little unaware about some rules and regulations that apply in Singapore. Some seem really ridiculous!
