Guys,

No point petition this and that la, just leave mac and get other jobs.

Used to work in HGPT last time before IVIC take over. Till now they still hold my pay.

Lost all the trust in Mac and other 3rd party Agents.

Its time to move on if you cannot accept their system, its getting crappy as times goes by.

Do you guys think that our hourly rate of $5.00 or $4.80 for the new riders of IVIC(Correct me if I'm wrong) is sufficient?

We are using our own bikes whereby our agents is not responsible for the maintenance of the bike.

Touch wood, if any of us had an accident, we will still be using our own money to pay for the damages.

Docket wise. 80Cents, $1.20 and $1.80 is still sufficient? I know there are some riders able to make $60 plus with their dockets on weekends excluding tips.

I agree that working for McDonald's can make money easily but the thing is, DO YOU THINK THAT $5.00 per hour is adequate for riders to maintain their bikes and other expenses?

For me, maintaining my bike could take up my pay up to half or whole if the bike needs an overhaul.

How about the tagging device? What do you guys think abt it?

I've been working in this line for almost a year and I've been thinking about our pathetic pay.... :faint:

So guys, I'm not here to whin or complain, I NEED YOUR OPINIONS!!![/size]

i decided to delete my original post since it seems to be flammable.

to answer your questions, i really think $5/hr is enough and the docket money is ok. just perhaps increase 80c to $1. $1.20, $1.80 and $2 is just fine for the hours. if you compare to pizza hut riders who use their own bike, their pay is also $5/hr but docket is only 60c vs 80c, $1 vs $1.20 and $1.20 vs $1.80/$2. but people still like to work at pizza hut cos of the huge potential in tips.

the tagging device is crap! i just use it to assign it under my name only. after that, i ask the crew to rider out and complete for me. so far, no noise.

all i wanna say is the pay is not pathetic. just try to think of it this way. you go out with your friends, you waste money. at mcdonalds, you can still do the same thing and yet earn money. i don't like riding under the hot sun and the heavy rain but the people there really makes me look forward to work. so, in short, i don't feel tired at all when at work. just that i obviously need to rest after every 12 hours shift. come to think of it, i've just finished a 16 hr shift and i'm still not tired.

and since you mention about accidents, you can opt for a montly insurance with them directly deductable from your pay. that'll cover any accidents and hospital bills while at work. as for motor claims, your third party insurance should be enough to get back the money and that's why you better be in the right when involved in an accident. as for bike wear and tear, all i can say is every owner must know how to take care of your bike. 1 veteran rider has been using his phantom for 10 years and still no overhaul! just renewed his COE and bike is still good to go.

my advise to you is this. you've been working for almost a year. you should know what's best for you. my friend moved from delivery rider to bartender. better pay, lesser hazards but very tiring while at work. it's just a question of a relax job or a better paying job.

that's a lot bro! don't tell me you from yishun hub? i know over there, the number of orders are crazy! that seems a lot eh! avg about $30/day. sometimes, you have to chiong if you want more money to cover installment and etc. just like this guy, my docket money can cover all of my mthly expenditure and still with a few hundreds left to save. just like fritz say, work more and you'll earn more.

if you think $5/hr is pathetic, try other part time jobs. they don't give you dockets, not even 1 free meal. if you think maintaining a bike while doing deliveries is expensive, it's time to get another bike.

in my own experience, i have no problem with the company i'm under and that is Niche. pay-wise, i can bring home almost $1k every mth in basic. and if include dockets and tips, can reach well over $1.5k. and that's based on 200 hours i clocked last mth. if you divided that by a normal 5 day work. that's just about 10 hours/day. the best thing i like is the flexibility. if i have anything on, i can always ask my friend to cover for me. same goes if i want to earn fast money. sometimes, i can work over 15 hours with 24 hours and sometimes i can work 40 hours in 3 days. for me, my target is always to cover a minimum hours. with the target reached, i can take a short breather.

if you really think about it, which other jobs let you slack while doing work. my job is simple. send order when there's one. by the time i come back, i'll wait for my turn. while waiting, i can choose to chit chat with my friends or sleep. which job is as easy as that?

if you talk about maintenance, who ask you to use a 2 stroke bike? for me, maintenance is simple. just change engine oil every mth. and change brake pads and tyres every few mths. for me, a few days worth of docket money can last me a whole month for petrol. practically, i used my docket money to survive my daily expenses and still can save a few hundreds. my basic is just savings to get another bike.

for most people in this line, they are mostly students working some hours to support their bike. for some, they are in between NS and school or waiting for a full time job. nobody works in this line for the future. it's just to keep your finances healthy while waiting for a proper job or for school/NS to start. same goes for me, i work as a rider while in NS and continued after i finish my NS. right now, i'm just waiting for school to start and then work on the few days where i'll be free.

about the tagging device, suck it up. any other jobs also have this kind of stupi high tech stuffs. in NS, while inside an ambulance, they also make use of a tag to track where the ambulance is so it's hard to go buy food. all i can say is the tagging device can be used to track down those riders who went home to '****' for a while.

pros:

very flexible

better rates than most other part time job

no cpf, better take home pay and for those in NS

no brain job

cons:

hazardous while on the road

hard to get working slots

need to work under the sun and rain

and to answer your problem, how often do you need to overhaul your engine? and how often do you need to send your bike for repairs? for me, luckily, it's always been a minor problem and can be rectified easily and with little money. if your bike is problematic, you can only blame yourself for not taking good care of your bike. the best way is to get a kup chai. for me, i plan to get another bike while my current bike will be shared between my and my friend, both working mac. and a lot of mac riders i know have moved on to buy class 2a bikes.

Im asking for a OPINION and you are flaming me for using 2 STROKE bike?

Your opinion is like as if I got a problem with you? For goodness sake and like I said, "I'm not here to whin or complain"

Relax luh, I used a 2 stroke bike too while working at Mac's and still managed to earn quite an amount. As long as you're not losing money in the long run, then do as you please.

hey friend can intro your company to me? looking for a job while looking for a better one.

If only time can roll back,i wish i can go back to my 2b times. Where bikers are friendly and helpful..

my suggestion is:

DON'T ride 2 stroke or 4 stroke bike for delivery if you dont wanna spend money to maintain your bike..

instead, ride a bicycle.. confirm no need any maintainence.. :)
