btw ..anybody knows what happened to Ponderosa ?

 

it was one of my fav steak house at the time ... when i first courted my wife till few years back. Now it seems all the outlets are closed. :sian:

I know there used to be a Ponderosa restaurant at Marina Square Shopping Centre. However I am unsure whether it is still there. Guess Ponderosa went bust just like the A&W fast food restaurants in Singapore due to stiff competition from Jack's Place. Now if we want to eat A&W, have to travel to Malaysia to do so... :sian:

Raffles city closed down first ..followed by Marina then Tampines ... too bad lah ... their steaks are quite good and got free buffet also ... their wedges and brown sauce ... *yummy* ... :hungry: :hungry: :hungry:

What happen to the outlet in Plaza Singapura? I was sure there was one there too. I didn't know that Ponderosa had so many other outlets.

Hog's Breath Ultimate Challenge

 

the rules are:

 

1. minimum 4 persons, 1kg steak per person

2. reservations necessary

3. must finish within an hour

4. must finish the whole steak + sides

 

if u can do it, the meal is FREE and Hog's Breath will donate $100 to charity.

if u cannot, u pay $100 (which will also be donated to charity)

 

Date: 29 Jan, 2007

Time: 8.15pm

Venue: Hog's Breath Cafe @ CHIJMES

 

please take note that all challengers should be participating out of their own free will, finishing 1 kg steak+ sides is not an easy feat, know ur limits and don't go around blaming anyone for indigestion problems... remember to bring $100 in ur wallet~

Just tried Aston's on Fri night.

 

I chose the Prime rib-eye extra cut, medium rare.

 

Pretty good. Value for money.

Can say that it beats Jack's Place, even though it might not hold against more expensive places like Hooha's Cafe or Outbacks.

 

But definitely value for money, and I will go back for more. :thumb:

okie, i juz called Hog's Breath and they said only one participant allowed each time (per month) and each challenger must bring 4 friends (who must order main course).

 

the slot at 29th Jan is still avaliable, so who wanna go first and who wanna go for Pay-Your-Own Makan...?? :D

 

guess 5 at one shot is too scary for them~~~ :lol:
