Did you try the one at Botak Jones , at Angmokio Kopi Tiam.? Stan loves the steak there.

yeap, tried it on a sunday evening~ so super crowded that we waited 45 minutes for the food.....

botak jones have another stall in tuas... can ride there and eat.. since all bikers here...less ppl for sure...no need to wait 1hr 45mins...

Try the steaks at this place first before you pass judgement. This Western food stall is one of its kind and it has no other francise stalls elsewhere like the TenderBest western food that you can find at a number of food courts around Singapore. Be objective and don't succumb to your mindset before trying the food...

The Botak Jones at Tuas is the first one to be set up.. seen the boss there before myself.. to the fish and chips.. never tried the steak though

Maybe I will. Where's this place exactly?

 

But seriously speaking, it has been my personal experience that at EVERY... and I really swear on that.... EVERY food court or hawker center type of "Western" food stall.... everytime without fail, the steak there always suck to the core.

 

First. The steaks (if they can call them that) are almost always Sirloin. Where's the tenderloin? Ribeye?

 

Next. They're about 2 or 3 cm thick at the most.

 

Next. When you order "Medium Rare", they always give that SMLJ blur look... and when you emphasize and they nod their heads "OK OK", somehow the steak always arrives Medium Well or Well Done anyway... Where's the friggin' blood?!

 

 

Finally... Well, there's all that is to be said. Add 1, 2 and 3 together, and I've totally sworn off these Hawker Center/Food Court "Western Food" steaks. 'Cos they're tough, thin, small, and never done the way it should be done anyway. They're not true steaks. More like slabs of rubber.

 

I'll head to a proper steakhouse for my fix...

 

 

So how's this Pelangi one? Do they fall into the small, thin, medium well category too? Pls advise before I actually go out and look for it man, thanks!
