Topic : Alarm for Wave

Description : Anyone know where I can get one fitted?

********************************************************************

Hi, just wondering if anyone can recommend a shop that can fit alarms on Waves. I'm looking for just a simple one - no need for fancy, expensive ones.

The only possible place I can think of is Regina or Ah Boy ... any other place?

Also, any idea of price?

Thanks!!

Yes, I am SO fed up of people stealing stuff from my bike and damaging it. There's alot of petty theft and vandalism where I live. I also notice that if you ride a very common or popular type of bike, your parts tend to get stolen more often. Anyway, I've had enough of thieves and vandals that's why I want to put an alarm on my bike - to teach these creeps to keep their @#!!@*#@ hands to themselves.

Last time I had a Phantom, I got one from them for under $200 including installation. But I think prices should have dropped by now - at least I am hoping that I can get one for under $100 or max $120 plus installation. :sian: Any suggestions/ideas? Anyone?

Since i will be frequently go JB , what are the locker/lock types that i need to buy to prevent my X1 beign stolen.

Posted

very hard, unless you chain them up with 3 bikes together.....cause your bike is so light to lift no matter what locks on the bike, it can be moved easily...

basically, one rule of thumb is that you should not leave the bike unattended at jb...

I'm a cantankerous lugubrious weirdo. Enraptured by stone walls. Demented by love. Disparaged by my own soul. Besieged by languor. Suffered from acute distress triggered by terminal boredom and elucidation of rhodonderons and deciduous seedlings. Searched for serenity amidst the chaos but failed miserably.

Disc lock + Chain?

Actually, I agree with ArWeN that we should not leave our bikes unattended in JB.

Malaysians are probably more interested in our cups than big bikes.

Dun leave unattended is the best as mentioned. Dun forget that we Singaporeans are not the only ones who can view this site. Its the whole world viewing. So be careful of wat we say.

But I do believe that its really dangerous parking bike unattended at places as mentioned. Anytime anwhere, come back discovered stolen. Insurance no pay. Die c*** standing.

Ride Safe Always.

its either you or your friend looking after the bike . and make sure you're not going to j.b. alone cos there cases where they rob you in broad daylight . Nobody around you does nothing , police also cannot help you .

Topic : Bike Alarm (China)

Description : Nil

********************************************************************

Hi Guys,

I just came back from China. Let you guy knows about this bike alarm stuff which next time can get from there if you can install on your bike here.

Just install a bike alarm on my Yamaha Scooter there. Cost me RMB$145 (About SG$30), including installation. Comes with 2 remote control. One of the remote control unit can mount key spring loaded.

Features:

Single press, "Armed" in 3 sec.

When armed, the LED will be flashing just like car alarm. This LED can be install any where on the bike.

First vibration detected, sound of 5 secs then stop. All signal light will Flash as it sound off. It will automatically goes into higher alarm upon first detection. Second vibration detected, sound of 12 secs & will be in this mode there after if vibrations detected. It comes with remote electrical "ON" & "OFF". It will not start the engine, but once the bike is electrically switch "ON", it can start without inserting keys. Good for keeping the headlights switch all the time on. Suddenly can remote switch on headlight to scare off someone. Also possible to kill the engine even someone trys to make off with the bike. Can do "Bike Search", all signal will flash continuously. Remote control range is said 100m, I have not tried it yet.

I saw a optional "Voice Warning System". Meaning upon first detection, Voice warning & low alarm. It will say something "Bike is Protected & Arm, do not touch or seat on it". Second detection High Alarm 12 secs without Voice Warning.

Few things which I like to have in future is remote engine start/stop, Remote Alarm sound "On" & something like Bluetooth.... When the keys are move away more then 3~5 meters it automatically "Armed" the bike. And when the key move within 3~5 meters, it automatcally "DisArmed" the bike. :bouncefire: :lovestruck:

The alarm with voice type cost RMB$190 about SG$40.

It comes with 2 siren, 1 for alarm 1 for voice lor. Then the main unit it's sealed/waterproof, cables/connectors & 2 remote controller. But this one no LED flashing lei.

Remote control was said 100 meter range. I never test it so cannot advise if this is true. The alarm is Loud.

What rolling code you mean??

Also got see very cheap alarm costing RMB$100 about SG$20 including installation. Comes with 2 remote controller as well. Just simple vibrations then sound alarm for 5~12 sec. No LED, No bike search functions, no electrical "No/Off" functions... just simple alarm that's all.

Bear in mind I don't sell this. Just saw these goodies there & happened to have used it & give you guys the idea. Bike there so cheap, my "Yamaha Jog" cost RMB$6300 about SG$1350. It's a scooter, 100cc & comes with original box. Only if Singapore have this type of price .... then every school kids can have one.:lovestruck:

Yup... that $69 one is the one similar I installed.

Water Proof, loud & sensitive. And I find his price is reasonable to get in Singapore.

Voice alarm is indeed common in China and they are not expensive as well... i have personally "played" wif 2 to 3 of them...

However, there are few concerns that I had considered when selecting an alarm... and it goes beyond jus the security angle of the alarm. I will like to share wif you guys if you have a few spare minutes.

Voice Alarm

It can be annoying, irritating and insulting for innocent people that have NO INTENTION of stealing/touching your bike. No matter how the gentle or polite the voice can be (which most of them are not friendly at all)... it is still unpolite to assume that someone has the intention to do something bad to your vehicle. Reaction to that can be very extreme... I personally saw someone (in SG) spat on, kicked and dented a car that gave out voice warning. The person was just getting out of his vehicle and did nothing else when the warning was given... he must have felt very insulted (which I would as well but I will not reacted to his extend) and decided to give the owner a piece of his mind. On closer look... that wasn't the only dent on the car IMHO... a slight beep from the alarm served jus as good as a reminder, definitely less "accusing" and leaves more room for interpretation.

Perimeter Sensors

This is definitely great security device that offers great protection... be it necessary or not. Unfortunately... we live in SG, an island where land are limited. It is therefore inevitable for parking space to be smaller or for vehicles to be packed a little bit tighter. Perimeter Sensors might trigger warning and alarm more necessary than required, especially in public carparks. Personally, I find it rather "unfriendly" and "unneighbourly" and I will not be surprised if it invites "unfriendly" or "unneighbourly" reaction...

yeah, i feel like the voice is more of a security-breacher than a security thingy. i not interested in installing that, just the beep and the remote E start.

repsol wave, how's that? wave wearing repsol sp skin?

how about just the remote E start?
