People, if you haven't got gloves u seriously have got to have one. Half finger or durian gloves, your choice. Heck you want to use five condoms also can. The point is, if u ride a bike, its only a matter of time before u fall/skid whatever.

Take it from me, i got buang before. Really not fun. Palm confirm 100% WILL kenna. I now wear taichi gloves. Not very very comfy, cannot throttle very precisely. It doesn't matter. Hand still more important.

People want to laugh, so be it. Point middle finger wearing glove more stylo also.

And please please also wear a shoe. Just imagine feet getting sandwiched between bike and road when skidding. Mine did. Heng got wear some leather shoe. :bouncefire:

Good point, and for guys, there's really no excuse as you can wear FOC army boots, which have served me well on my bikes though I'm retiring them for a pair of Gaerne GRS boots.

i as a pillion also wear gloves and jacket.

Very cool :thumb: And smart too - pillions run the same risks as riders, so there's no reason for them to be dressed less safely.

Well, FOC is very worth it, lol, especially for Nike, which is generally pricey. Do let us know what gloves you settle on after you pass your TP. You might even consider getting long ones for daily wear cuz if you find the right one, it can be as comfortable, flexible and unrestrictive as short gloves.

Yep, a gd pair of gloves does not restrict your wrist n hand movements. In fact, after you've started wearing gloves, you'll feel naked without one. :thumb:

You are so funny   :D

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

But frankly speaking, no matter how much we talk about the importance of wearing gloves, if people feels shy and sissy about gloves, they will never wear them.

People ever said this to me: "If so scared to injured yourself and must wear this and that, don't ride bike lah!" Ride bike for what? :sian:

i will probably get those with carbon fibre knuckle plates..but any of those gloves which are not made of leather? find leather quite hot...

yay... finally got my gloves. feel so safe and secure wif them on!

but, piangz, the switch from thin durian gloves to such thick armoured gloves really feels strange: cant feel my throttling tt well cos i totally lost my dexterity. :giddy:

hope this is a matter of getting used to the gloves and also letting it get 'seasoned'. Small price to pay for the protection in return.

btw the gloves are hodoka brand, not komine as i earlier thought, they are still on 'sale', the whole damn pile on display seems untouched.

The gloves better not be on clearance, and Motoworld better not drop the price so soon after i bought them! hehe..

Congrats on your new purchase! :thumb: Thick gloves often take longer to season than thinner ones, and even my current medium-thickness short gloves took a good 2 weeks to break in. Stick with it and soon they'll feel like second skins. I'm guessing that after a while, it will start to feel strange without gloves on, with the wind, sun and rain free to whack your hands.

Hi, good that you finally got a pair of decent gloves, hope you continue wearing them whenever you ride your bike no matter how short the riding distance is.

You will get use to it as your gloves season and soften and "mould" to your hand,

after that you will feels "naked" without them. Ignore all the stares from those "ah bengs" and just do the right thing

You'll get used to the gloves soon enough. There will definitely be a loss of dexterity, but it's worth the protection. You will probably find it hard to loop your helmet strap around the D-rings. Not to mention other things like taking out small things from your pocket or typing SMS...

Eventually, even these things will be possible if you live with your gloves long enough. As for dexterity - on-the-move dexterity may actually improve because your hands are less stiff from wind, rain, etc.

Good point. :thumb:

But I still can't type SMS with my gloved hand. The buttons are too small. Think of The Thing in Fantastic 4 trying to SMS... But I agree that the wind and cold protection is excellent. I also feel more confident, knowing that I am well protected.
