The whole event was exciting.

1) Alvin Kok couldnt make it on friday and he only had saturday for FP and QP.

2) myself, i got slower as the days went. my best time was on friday, but it was slower than my MSS time.

3) sepang has been resurfaced....the looks of it when DAMP or dry is very little difference.

4) not sure if its the suspensions or the tyres or the track surface, but there was plenty of grip from DUNLOP SPORTMAX GP tyres.

5) PETRONAS Malaysia and PETRONAS Thailand and BABIES TEAM(hamaguchi and Inagaki) are the very top level. saw them doing things at the track, u can never see in MSS or trackday. in race 1, hamaguchi crashed. he lost alot of laps...he went to pits twice, did some repair.....went in without a FRONT BRAKE LEVER, and he did overtake me in the rain....but he had already lost alot of laps....just shows the kind of riders they are.

6) most memorable moment was in RACE 1, Lap 2(full rain)......Alvin Kok crashed in turn 1....i overdid the brakes and ran wide in to turn 1 at the same time. once in the gravel, i couldnt move out my bike. 1st gear or 2nd gear, the wheel just kept spinning......and ALVIN KOK who just crashed ran towards me, signalling me to go in and helped me push the bike out of the gravel. i continued the race and finished 2nd last. but it was about sg rider helping me out to go on to race.

7) in MSS i superfly somebody. in Asia i got superflyED. at turn 2 during race 2. i found this a tricky race. couldnt differentiate between damp and dry....by lap 5 i got lapped at turn 2....on lap 6, i got lapped by the 2nd group of riders at turn 2 again...seeing the blue flag, i gave way....most riders took the inside line....but race 1 runner up took the outside most line, and superfly me. i am not sure if its his bike or my bike, but i am very sure of a tyre running over my leg(thigh). but ok, not broken bones, but hurts.

8) biggest help was Bikelab supporting throughout the event. the amount of work they did was tremendous

Don't just break your laptimes, SHATTER them!!

Hey Amba & Alvin #31,

I was there just in time to watch race 2. Saw you guys riding and also heard about what went on.

Great to see Amba back racing so soon after breaking his collarbone. Man, you are one hard *******... keep the laps coming and I am sure that you will get your speed back, and then some!

Alvin was his usual humble self, but I saw him pushing real hard! Go Alvin!

Chill guys, take the results with a pinch of salt. Race 2 was damp and no one will blame you both for being unsure of the surface.

You both were racing against some of the best in Asia! Proud of you guys!!!!!

Kudos to Bikelab, was in the pits and got a brief idea of how much Joshua & Thamo had to do.

Cheers,

But the weather really spoil the race. I think riding on a wet & new surface is completely different from riding in the dry. I strongly believe our boys has tried their best not to get lapped. I'm proud to be there to support them.

Well that was the plan, but was too tired so my friends left me in the room while they went to Zouk! The buggers!

Until next time!

Overall, i was very impressed with how they run Asia Race.. Very profesionally runned Race.. Its definitely 1 class above MSS.. Looking at the timing sheets, doin a 1:09 will also be lapped but who cares.. Like Amba mentioned on ealier post, there isnt any s'porean rider who race and escaped being lapped by the TOP 10 riders.. The way i look at it, its more of gaining experience than being afraid of being lapped a couple of time.. So Amba, dont let the result put u down but instead move forward and correct the mistakes dat might help u in ur next race..

On both race i watched it mostly from turn 1, 3 and 4.. It was definitely an eye opener for me to futher improve my riding especially on turn 1 & 3..

In race 1(wet race), i got the best view of crashes just 10-30m infront of me.. Dat includes Alvin crash then followed by Amba doin a courtesy checking on him at the gravel.. :p At least 5 riders crashed at the brake marker of turn 1 during the opening 4 laps. Some of them seems to even liked it.. While the marshall were trying to remove Alvin's bike from the gravel, then another bike came crashing towards them and all of a sudden all of them just release the bike and ran.. Damn dat was funny.. Wish i got a video cam dat i cud record it to show it here..

In Race 2(partially damp), again i was at the same spot.. saw how Amba crashed.. If im not wrong it was onli in lap 5.. The Top 8 guys came aproaching turn 2, Amba seing the blue flag waved at him, did try to give way but its just a total mess when the front runner took him from inside and outside and finnally the thai rider trying to take him from the outside hit him and both bike crashed.. i saw the bike topple on top of Amba.. Damn dat was scary.. Alvin, however did finish the race but i can see dat he did it with lots of caution.. Once i saw Alvin almost got hit at turn 4 when the Petronas boy took him from inside at a very last minute..

Overall i noticed dat the top rider doesnt wait till u complete the turn to take u but instead they will take u there n then when the see u.. All this is thier attemp to run away and open bigger gap with whoever they are sparring with... For sure next year i will want to participate even if its gonna put me in the list of spore rider being lapped.. :faint: Anybody wanna join me?:giddy:
