Want to Buy Insurance for 3 bikes/ One Rider

1. I want to buy insurance for my 3 bikes in October-07. I am only rider and paying 3 insurance. I feel cheated by Insurance Company because only can ride one at the time. Some more the 20% NCD on can be used only one bike (in NTUC same company).

2. Why car insurance allow anybody to drive but bike insurance allow only with name?

 

3. Why car NCD up to 50% but bike only 20%?

 

Earlier 2 bikes in 2B & 2A not so bad, now include class 2 feel the pinch.

 

Need advise and look for agent who can give me discount. I never claim insurance before in more than 10 years of riding/ drivig.

Insurance follows bike registration, not the owner. So the answer is no.

About two years back, I had a long email discussion with Mr Tan Kin Leng (NTUC Income ex-CEO) on this matter as I was having three bikes, and all on 3rd party, single rider policy.

 

Of course he was being tactful, and although he mentioned that it is not impossible but Singapore insurers may not be ready for such a scheme although it's available in the US.

 

I'm still having two bikes now, and i would gladly continue on this matter with the new CEO, if I can get a show of hands who is willing to support my petition.

I think your statement need to be rephrased to give a more accurate picture.

 

There is no limit to how many bikes is entitled to NCD. Just that each bike has to earn it. This principle is also applied on cars.

I am not as ambitious as asking for just one insurance. I'm only asking for a better rate.

 

I may convert the bikes to TP to save even more. Currently both my bikes are on TPFT.

Count me in if you intend to continue lobbying for more sensible policies. Owing 4 bikes and having to buy 4 separate insurances is no joke.

I also have another proposal: that I will cover the first $5 or $10k if my insurer need to pay the other party if I'm in the wrong.

 

This is something like the excess for comprehensive, but for the other party. For comprehensive, I wonder if the insurance companies will reduce the premium if you set your excess higher? I read this is one way to bring down your premiums in the US if you are a careful driver.

On the matter of one consolidated insurance policy for bikers who have multiple bikes.

 

NTUC has just called me on this matter after i emailed them, and they informed me that they will escalate it to their management. They will reply me on any outcome.
