I think get CBR better. It is 4 stroke and the fuel consumption is very good, almost 2x of SP. And most SPs out there are quite old, which gives you quite a bit of problem if it was not well-maintained by previous owners.

Note: all SPs are at least 2nd hand because not in production liao.

SP is noisier, faster, bigger, older...

CBR150 F/C better, cheaper maintenance, Lesser pollutions...

Just to check anyone happen to knw wat is the cost of a second hand cbr150 if i were to get from a shop? let said the coe left around 3 yr?

cbr is smaller than sp so for bigger people it might be more cramped. based on reviews that i have read in magazines on 125ccs (fast bikes may 2010 issue) and cross-referencing with my own knowledge, 2B 4strokes tend to have slightly more torque in the lower gears. this is because they have a wider power band. whereas 2 strokes have smaller power band, we need to rev to 6+ k b4 our power valve activates. results? this means that 4 strokes like cbr150, yamaha r125/150 can actually jump from the traffic lights better than 2 strokes. but this does not mean better acceleration for 4 strokes. cos in a few seconds after the power valve kicks in, the 2strokers will dominate.

for 4 stroke 2Bs, like cbr and r 125, stock, your max speed shld be around 120, but for 2strokes 100-110 is our cruising speed so you can see the performance difference in raw figures.

benefits of 4 stroke: cheap. good fc and everything that pple have said above that i dnt need to repeat

benefits of 2 strokes: also said above

but which to choose? if you are using bikes just as a form of transport then i highly suggest u take 4 strokes.

but if u are passionate about bikes and u aim to upgrade to class 2 sportsbikes, i feel that the 2stokers can develop the relevant skills needed to ride bigger cc sportbikes. compared to 2 strokes, larger sportbikes corner like fully laden aircraft carriers. learn to corner well at high speed with a 2 stroke u might end up a safer rider when u upgrade, cos u will be used to high corner entries and know the mechanics of how to corner.

im riding an sp. my prev owner din really take care of it and i had to keep going to the mechanic to change stuff and alot of money spent. but however, its through all those **** u go through, like chain coming off sprocket on express way, hub breaking apart needing to tow away. front bike giving up on me halfway on expressway..spending hours in the mechanic finding out wads wrong.....through all these **** that u gain valuable experience, like wad parts go intoi your bike, wad to do when ur bike dies on u?etc etc...u can say its part of the fun and part of the whole experience. u will really feel attached to your bike cos both of u have gone through **** loads together. my 2 cents worth :)

well cbr150 and nsr are 2 diff engine types. cbr is 4 stroke nsr is 2. biggest difference is that cbr will eat nsr dust because cbr is more about smoothness and not speed nor acceleration. for speed junkies nsr of course. but for a quiet and smooth ride i say cbr. and cbr is really slim compared to nsr, which feels wider and lower. not to mention nsr is much heavier.

you are welcome shuriya! and just some advice for after u pass ur tp, im a person who supports wearing FF helmet and gloves while riding. my fren passed a way from a head injury which cld have been prevented if he had worn a FF. i was still learning biking when that happend and it taught me how not to underestimate the danger of riding.

and dont straight away chiong after u pass. take your time to learn ur bike. 2years ago, one fren of mine got into an accident 3 days after he passed. he had to RECONSTRUCT his finger for 1 yr after that. he gave up riding after that accident too. 2 weeks ago another fren got into an accident 5 days after he pass. he was wearing a half-face and now his face is so badly injured...dont be the next pls...

sp very cheap.

newbies should just buy and whack, get 2A. then get real sportsbike.

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

cbr very fun to play in carpark.

Sp NOT very good on track.

Off the lights, a proper set up sp with a proper rider will smoke the cbr.

My partner got her 05 cbr for 1.8k from shop.
