I dun think Wave S got fuel pump.....Maybe u mean vacuum activated fuel line.

Means when the engine running the vacuum created in the combustion chamber will suck fuel into the carb.

When engine off, the one way valve in the fuelline/fuel tank will cut off fuel supply to the carb.

Cheers !

Ya la. Maybe. It's because at dat time of period i wan to know which line is the fuel supply tube. I take out the tube and see then no petrol come out! Then with the tube on my hand i go and ON the engine and the petrol shoot out. Lucky never kanna my face. Hahaha. What an experience to learn.....

Maybe there is a tube from the engine exhaust port to the fuel tank that creates this postive pressure to push the fuel out of the fuel tank?

95km/h like got problem leh..

mine FY plate top speed is 110 straight road, 120km/h with a little down slope.

70kg rider, big box, sport rims, bigger tyres. 80-100km/h

60km/L anytime.

i have a 1st-batch wave-i, the top speed is exactly the same as silversurfer

80kg rider, 32L box, sport rims,

250km / 3.8L ~ 65km/L - travelling avg 80km/h

no problem with the first batch except powercut at full throttle, which, in my opinion, saves your engine cos its not designed to go so fast!!

the only maintenance i need to do is to change eo and sparkplug! super cool! no 2T and all that rubbish!

my bike 80-90km/h full tank about 165km.

i jus bought Wave S end of March'06. mileage now is about 1700+km, changed 1st time EO at about 800km, going to change 2nd time at 2000km. 1st time service at Honda, only changed EO, using Esso brand EO (got to pay $10 for EO). 1st 3 times serciving free by Honda, but got to pay for EO.

my questions :-

1. now top speed can only hit 105km/h. is that normal?

2. some of my frens advised me not to go back Honda for change EO. Jus change it at motortiam, use the better quality EO. pls advice? what brand better?

3. During 1st time servicing my bike at Honda, i met a guy which he oso servicing his HONDA 600cc bike there. He advised me change to sport rims & bigger tyres (more stable), install 33L box (keep helmet and rain coat) and that pair of "SPRING" which under the passenger seat (more stable). i m new BIRD >

4. he oso advice me to change the "chain" every 3-4months if heavy riding. is that true?

I have been riding suzuki 'Best' 110CC for abt 3yrs liao..

2 months back, I realised my fuel was quite high.. abt 33km/L.. When I bought the

bike (2nd hand), my fuel consumption was abt 38km/L. Recently abt 3 weeks back, I

went in Jb to grind my valve and clean carburetor.. they checked my piston and was in good condition.. Had my chain changed... wow liao.. Now my fuel consumption is abt 47km/L.. 10km increase... Imagine how much fuel and $ saved after servicing it for abt RM95 only.. So would like to tell bros and sis riding, if u feel that fuel consumption is getting high, time to get it taken care of... With the increasing fuel prize, i think it's worth paying abit more...

Yup...thats true.......

Servicing is a gd way to clean the deposits and also prolong engine life.....

i personally did that b4 and it certainly brought gd results to my bike overall performance.......

my service took 3 hours similar to wat most ppl would do service cubrator and also i clean the front engine and filter...

would recommand that Certainly......

Good for injector type cars or bikes.

That's why a good 'ol servicing is rec for non injector bikes like Wave S and R.

my questions :-

1. now top speed can only hit 105km/h. is that normal?

Answer: I think it is normal. For mine also stock. Abt dat speed. My weight is abt 58kg.

2. some of my frens advised me not to go back Honda for change EO. Jus change it at motortiam, use the better quality EO. pls advice? what brand better?

Answer: Advice? I think this one depends on your pocket. How deep is your pocket. If u think u can afford then can try Motul or Maxima which will cost u abt $20 to $22 for juz one litre of Engine Oil? If too expensive then maybe u can use Semi-Synthetic.

Answer: Sport Rims? Bigger Tyres? Sport Rims r just for safety from puncture immediately. Dat's all. Other than dat it serve no other purpose. As for Bigger tyres for more stability maybe it's true but please take note dat your top speed will go down if u take to BIG a tyre due to the tyre weight. Install E33L Givi box? This is up to individual. For me E33 is a little bit BIG. Givi Smile E16 looks cute with Wave! Mine is installed with Smile E16! The pair of spring u mention is called the Rear Suspension. U can change it for better stability. Stock one is not good like dunlopillo. Toink Toink.

4. he oso advice me to change the "chain" every 3-4months if heavy riding. is that true?

Answer: Change chain every 3-4 months? Siau i think this fella. Just maintain your chain every 500km clean wif Maxima GT85 and lubricate it with any chain oil and your chain will last longer if being taken care of properly.

any1 can advice me? what else MUST or better change it? dont advice me totally change it to 600cc hor ! tell me more about Wave S pls ! thks....

Answer: Advise u? What else MUST change? Is yours stock tyres? If it is pls change to better soft compound tyres. Suspension change is better. The rest ok. If u don wan everytime puncture tyre then change sport rim. Dat's all.

For periodic maintenance, inspection and adjustment u can refer to this list:

Topic : How Much Reserved Fuel

Description : Bar Blinking...

********************************************************************

Fellow cubber,

How much fuel or how much distance can Honda Wave-S cover when the fuel gauge bar starts blinking?

This morning, as soon as I was on Expressway, the bar is start blinking I managed to make my way to a petrol station nearby my work place distance was 26km.

I would like to know what is the maximum milleage can cover?

And I can't seem to be able to locate the reserve switch, is there any reserved fuel switch?
