A very good economical bike. 18 litre tank and can cover 50km/l. If you want to ride bike mainly for transport only, then this is the bike to get. :thumb:

Hi, I just bought the Pulsar. Received it on Friday. Took it up North on Saturday. Rode it up to Kulai and back, just to help in the running in. It was about 66 km. Topped up my tank before coming back in. Amazing 1.1L. So that made it 1 L = 60 km.

I rode at a constant 65 km/h. Did not want to stress the engine. It was very rough in the beginning, 1st gear was like riding a horse. Cannot blame it, this is a very torque bike. To wards the end of my trip, the 1st gear was very smooth. I guess it has to do with the running in.

Overall, the ride was very smooth, engine performed beyond my expectation. And I believe that over time (after running in) I can increase my speed and still get the same fuel consumption.

Meet a Malaysian on Friday; he has completed his running in, 3000 km. He needs to ride to and from work abt 60km each day. Said he rides a 110km/hr. and it able to achieve 40km/lit. So that he only needs to top up every ten days. He is very happy with it.

I do not think that I will ride at that speed all the time considering the lower speed limit of 90km /h. So I believe that I can get abt 55km/l or 60km/l. considering that I am an easy rider compared to Malaysian who always rides very hard and fast.

I will keep everyone updated and I hope that this thread will continue to attract comments and suggestion and more Bajaj riders will join in the post

I will suggest get it from Universal, fast delivery abt 2 days with box and IU

How much did u pay for ur Bajaj Pulsar (machine price OTR, excluding insurance)?

http://www.motoworld.com.sg/products/1423/small.jpg?rand=31854229 http://unleashthebeast.wikispaces.com/file/view/Monster_Energy.gif/259657964/Monster_Energy.gif

Hi everyone,

I’m a new 2B rider who’s looking around for my 1st ever bike. The Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-I certainly caught my attention.

The Pulsar must be one of the heaviest 2B bikes around. With a dry weight of 137kg (correct?) and 18-litre tank, I suppose the bike will weigh about 155kg when fully loaded with fuel. That’s as good as a 250cc bike! This can be quite intimidating for a small-sized new 2B rider like me (1.63m, 55kg). I’m worried the bike might be too heavy for me to handle during cornering and U-turning.

Can those who own the Pulsar comment on its handling? It’ll be even better if u can tell me your ht & wt as well. By the way, what’s the Pulsar’s seat height?

Thanks.

Pulsar 180. $4.6k OTR quoted by Universal Motors. It includes IU, Brand new rear box with rear light (with base plate of course). It excludes Insurance. My age, 22, 3rd party insurance is $295 per year. Im a happy man. I have ordered my Pulsar and it will come to me latest by next tues.

I have taken some pictures at Universal MOtors today. The box is very very firm which i really like alot. The IU is also placed in a very nice place. The new model now has a rear suspension, triple rating spring, 5 way adjustable, NitroX shock absorbers. the pictures all very nice.

Older models only hold 16litre + 2litre reserve.

Newer models hold 13litres + 2 litres reserve, with sports rims, tubeless tyres.. and adjustable rear shock. thats all i can tink off now. pls correct me if im wrong. thanks.

enjoy the pics.

Bro,

U sure abt the newer model's fuel capacity? Cos what u're saying is that the newer model's fuel capacity is lesser than that of the older model.

im running in smoothly. hehe. swee. i will write my now.

1. i just pumped 18.7litres of petrol (specs said 15litres including 2 litres of reserve) and universal motors told me they pumped somewhere betw 1litre to 2 ltires for my bike for collection. so total 18.7litres + 1litre = 19.7litres. i tink full tank 20 litres. bloody hell. IM IMPRESSED. ths time ihave got better reasons to visit msia

2. each gear transmission is pharking smooth. much smoother den phantom. i know i cant compare phantom with pulsar la.. but its just a comparison to show the smoothness of the gear change

3. every 3krpm i change gear and soon i reached 5th gear(max) at a speed of 40km/hr and SURPRISINGLY, the bike's engine is still going strong! wont like those te da te da that kind of engine dying feeling

4. as for the fuel consumption.. i cant say anything yet but for sure, i would haf finished running in w/o refilling my petrol

5. the box is firm with LED rear brake lights.

6. pictures. will be uploaded soon.

more to come!

No more regrets.
