Been using HTC, satisfied with it. Don't think i'll go for other brands unless they have some factor that can make me drool.

I want to see the world and i'm pretty sure the world wants to show a little something to me.

hahaa and i thought im the only one who gives very little crap about the fancy functions. I still get annoyed with people snapping group photos using cameras too.

Oh **** I'm guilty of that  but I make sure my pictures are clear enough unlike those who uses flash in the day time:sweat:

Hey, thanks for the comments. I think I'll drop by Starhub to see the Sony C902, if the keypad "feel" is right, I may just buy that. Or maybe the motorola RAZR...

Isn't Motorola Razr the old model? hmm.. I reckon S.E or Nokia would suit your liking from what I read about your "requirements"

thank god.. i have dual brake disc..

had to jam break twice today... once at dashing cyclist.... front fork dived all the way .. almost doing stoppie...

then again at yellow box junction, other cars are stopping as jam, but one lane is clear (bus lane) so i slip thru with slow speed around 20-30kmh...

and one kup zoomed into yellowbox from opposite direction.. jam break till bike jerk out.. lucky i was going slow speed...:bow::bow:

Were promised by a bike shop that if i take out a bike from them, it will be done nicely... (as all bike shops will say but not many can keep their words)

Therefore, i wanna let you guys know my incident and be more careful and meticulous in the future when dealing with people from bike shops, buying or selling.

Its been 5 months since i bought the bike anyways. So here goes:

Went to bike shop and wanted to get a bike, paid deposit on the day itself due to i find it very attractive (Wrong move totally!!). I have not got my license and asked for the bike to be left in the shop and also told them to run the insurance starting from somewhere around the 20th Jul 08 (my TP date). I failed that day and was informed by the salesperson that my insurance had already started about a month ago.... I have put myself as non - rider and a close friend as my sub. WTF! Waste my insurance money!! Okay nvm, since my bike already got insurance, put there also LPPL (Everyday rain shine on new paintwork plus people go try try). Might as well let my friend use it once or twice per week so as to keep the bike in shape (Friend already has his own bike from same shop but it keeps going back for repairs and the mechanics just cannot make it, they keep repairing the same damm thing and cant get it fixed).

Got my license 2 months later on Sept 08. Straight away take my bike to Planet and let Mark and Chong test ride and check. Diagnosis : Brake disc maybe warp liao. I wanted to change and asked chong how much, About $250 - $300 per piece and my bike has 2 piece. Too ex for me, i decided to go back bike shop and tell them. Then Mark discovered that the disc are actually in the same direction!! It should be a "left" and a "right" disc. Now i have a "left" "left" disc. Of course will have a warp feeling as one side of the brake cannot "eat". :faint:

Ok, went back to the shop on Saturday, was told to come on Monday as Saturday very packed and busy. Ok fine, as long as you change for me. Went back on Monday, was told to come on Thursday cos no stock. Okay. Went back on Thursday, "the person in charged is not around!! Whatever he promise you, you must get from him..." Ok i was quite pissed off already and asked him back, "like that is you want me to come back again on Saturday or Monday izzit? You think i very free come back again and again. The person tell me come on Sat, Mon and then Thurs he went MIA is me F-up or he F-up?" And so he replied after consulting someone, ok... i change for you today but you must wait ... i said ok and pulled a chair to sit down and smoke. Was gonna change my rear disc too as it is severely worn out... they tell me wear and tear, i ask them, ride 10 times can wear and tear until like that arh? So he did not try and argue and tell me he will change one for me (everything was second hand) After he changed, he also made me sign a piece of paper saying that even if it is not ideal, i cannot demand that they change for me again... -_- -> this however, i believe can be ruled as unfair contract terms one way or another as goods sold MUST be in working order. This issue is concerning brakes for god's sake!!

Nevermind, sign first then say, went to Planet right away and tested, chong said it was good and i felt relieved. Decided to change brakes, eo and spark plugs at Planet that day. EO come out all kopi o. Bear in mind my friend usually use my bike once a week and in a time frame of about 2 months would be at most 10 times. Kopi o EO... ok... Sparkplugs take out all got carbon until jialat. Ok ... best part is brake pads take out liao got nothing left!! NOTHING~!! I use so long also cannot use until so swee... this one got absolutely no lines at all... how to stop? And they promised to change EO, Sparkplugs and Brakepads for me.... like that is do swee swee meh? Other than my instalments, i do not wish to have anymore contact with them.

So, i wanted to do some basic maintenance, like wash carb. Found out that jet screw stuck, front wheel bearing spoil, steering cone spoil, tyres uneven wear..... :puke:

All in all, this is what i changed and do to my bike...

Front and rear brake discs changed (warranty).

Throttle cable changed.

Grips changed.

Tyres changed.

Engine Oil changed.

Spark Plugs changed.

Brake pads front and back changed.

RXZ to Ver. S headlights.

Loosen a stuck jet screw.

Carb washed.

Front wheel bearing changed.

Steering cone changed.

Air filter recharged.

Signal lights changed.

Coolant flushed.

Coolant changed to Engine Ice.

Seats rewrapped + cushion.

Stickers on fuel cap and tank.

Alarm installed.

yeah....now u have new bike...

another forummer bought from another forummer and told that was a fantastic bike..but turn out to be a lemon...

word of caution though...notice bike sales man is using this forum to unload bike to us..Jimmy???..yeah he will become tommy in his new classified.

i simply search for his past post to ascertain whether he is one of the buddies here..

his join date is a dead give away...

saw a classified for a cheap scooter...later saw this scooter in the basement car park where i live...

hiazzzzzzzzz,...scooter still not moved for the past 2 months..with a pool ( i do mean pool) of EO on the floor ..making it a hazard for those lots beside it...

so for those who want to buy old bikes..maybe .suggest to owner that u bring it to planet for assement..and see the respond..i suppose if seller agrees then it is a good sign...if not buyer beware..

yeah getting conned seems to be one part of our lives in growing up (growing old too)..:?

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

Don't forget your 2 brake calipers are to compensate for your extra weight+torque+momentum+kmax's fast speed :cheeky:

better than compensating that buggers..

No doubt, if the shop did not honour their promises, that would be very dishonest in their business dealings.

However, looking at the list of things you changed, it really does not seem too bad, for a used bike (even more so if the bike was sold 'cheaply')

Wear n Tear parts that needs to be replaced eventually, comes with buying a used bike. Nobody would change all these to new ones before selling the bike or pushing to bike shop.

Regular Maintenance items, every owner needs to be responsible for this

These look like cosmetic changes that have nothing to do with the condition of the bike, no?

Grips changed.

RXZ to Ver. S headlights

Seats rewrapped + cushion

Stickers on fuel cap and tank

Alarm installed

Signal lights changed (could be cosmetic, could be repair?)

You were too hasty to pay a deposit for this bike, PERIOD. Well, it seems to me that the bike was priced attractively because many of the wear & tear parts are near the end of its usable life. If the bike shop had serviced & replaced all these parts before putting it up for sale, I can bet the price would have been far less attractive.

Take this as a lesson & NEVER EVER EVER be hasty again when buying your class 2 bike in the future. Get your license first, take it easy & choose wisely.

The issue about signing up for insurance before you even pass, that's just too rushed... Slow and steady ok :)

I have the best signature.

Can't bring myself to laugh :( The part where she lifts her hands up to dance looks a lil amusing though I can't laugh still :faint:

better than compensating that buggers..

Imagine the bike with drum brakes instead:giddy:

I think the case here is about the verbal assurance, agreement and commitment of the salesperson's part not being met. Yes we should take what he say with a bucket of salt but he would have been mis-representing his product if he were to say that he is selling cheap and still assure that the bike is free from problems. But then again that seems typical of every bike sales person...

In any case, if we get burnt, it'll be mostly our fault. Too eager, too naive, too unknowing. If we don't want to get burnt then we already should know what to do. Just always remember, burnt liao cry foul, no black and white, no use.

in a case of sales, or meaning in sales line, no matter hw or what that product to be sold is, the salesman will, by all means, even lying thru his ancestors, just for that product to be sold & earn that commission.

once the customer is hook, line & bait, all the salesman hv to do is to ensure the customer to surrender the mula over.

& once deal done, commission "sio sio" in the pocket, dust clean the hands & buttocks & off he MIAs...

Its human nature that when we sees a gd buy, bt nt sure of condition, & then pressured by the hard selling, the typical singaporean kiasu-ism will overcome the correct brain and mk the haste decision.

Then once bought & the true colours shown, then we know, we just shot ourselves in the foot...

Like me, Im a haste buyer, rather regret nt buying than buying wrongly.

So, most of time the stuffs I bought, is 70% usable, 20% redundant, 10% un-useable....

sheehs:rolleyes:

Yes i agree with Black Dawn and KeV and Snap.... i am too hasty and yes some are for cosmetics purposes.

We dun talk about those, but look at the essentials, he promised to change whatever is going to finish and he didnt. Period.

And i personally take braking as a very serious stuff... look at these, improper front discs, badly worn out rear discs and virtually no brake pads.

Also EO. We all know that EO cannot save, it will lead to alot of problems... But looking at the drained out EO, i ASSUME he didnt change.

Spark Plugs i cannot be sure if there will be so much carbon after using like 10 times...

Like they say... everything is new...!! Yeah right... 6 months or one year ago it was still new.... Just dont be like me and be too hasty!

By the way, he priced it cheap enough to attract me and also tell me he will do sui sui... He didnt say u buy at this price but got this this this problem that you need to solve yourself. the only wrong thing i did was that i didnt ask him to write down on a piece of paper.

Yah lor... now cry also LL hahaha~!! So i want to let more people know and think of what to do when they wanna buy or sell bikes... Some people might face situations like this again...

Wear n Tear parts that needs to be replaced eventually, comes with buying a used bike. Nobody would change all these to new ones before selling the bike or pushing to bike shop.

Front and rear brake discs changed - Have to change cos jerky feeling when braking, it is improper anyways.

Throttle cable changed - Old ones are too tight and the rubber covering the cable is already worn out.

Tyres changed - They changed one pair for me but uneven wear and finishing anyways. When i ask them why like that? They tell me M1 tyres is like that one... Ehh how come my new M1 wont like that huh?

Brake pads front and back changed - As said, old ones virtually nothing left, only a flat smooth piece of metal.Front wheel bearing changed - Part of the bearing already spoilt so gotta change unless i want to wait for it to totally chui...

Steering cone changed - As above

Air filter recharged - Lucky its already KNN but its not recharged for sometime it seems.

Loosen a stuck jet screw - What do you get for having a problem like this? -> Poor FC, Lousy pickup for gear 1 and 2. is this essential since you know it? YES!

Regular Maintenance items, every owner needs to be responsible for this

Carb washed. - Done by my own accord.Coolant flushed. - Done by my own accord.Coolant changed to Engine Ice - Done by my own accord.

Engine Oil changed - Promised by shop but i ASSUME not done so i do myself.

Spark Plugs changed- Promised by shop but i ASSUME not done so i do myself.

These look like cosmetic changes that have nothing to do with the condition of the bike, no?

Grips changed. - Old ones is Playlife, sticky and the rubber almost gone. But ok, i choose to change myself.

RXZ to Ver. S headlights - Change on my own accord.

Seats rewrapped + cushion - Change on my own accord.

Stickers on fuel cap and tank - Change on my own accord.

Alarm installed - Change on my own accord.

Signal lights changed - Due to RXZ headlights, my rear lights they give me small signal lights which is blocked by my GIVI Rack. No doubt if you put in the effort you can see it blinking, but if its so hard to notice, whats the point?
