i wanted to go last year (i think there was one right?), but unfortunately, something unfortunate happened so i couldnt take part..tot this yr wud love to join shud there be an opportunity to do so, insyaallah i will:D

definetely a good response sis.. got to go to mosques that u never been before... and the best thing is, I got permit to go to Masjid Pulau Bukom too with all riders this year.

 

This is an annual event sis... I started this because its my niat(intention) & Nazar(promise) that one I pass my bike licence & get my bike, I want to visit all the mosques in Singapore In 1 day. Indeed, I accomplished it alone. Tot, wanna organise this to all so dat it may help some who didnt even notice that ther's a mosque nearby one's work place. From the smallest mosque to the biggest mosque we ride...

 

had a couple of muslimahs also joining also evry year. Last year, I decided to break the visits within 1 month of Ramadhan. It was a successful one though. We enjoyed. Covering all 69 mosques in Singapore except Pulau Bukom Mosque.

This year, on one of the weekends, a few of us will be planning to tour Islandwide within 1 day to cover all the mosques in Singapore. Back to how this thread was started/planned, really hope that this time will be a reality. Research is in the way. Preparation in progress. The challenge is, it will be done in the month of Ramadhan. Really hope that this trip will benefit those in enquiry in regards to where the location is & the differences each mosques have in accommodating, structurality & speciallity. Although there may be parties who may or had criticised my intentions, we will still move on. The dog barks, the caravan moves...

Join us in this year's Ramadhan.... its quite tiring though but worth it. puas hati. some people like touring up north & some people like to tour within, islandwide.

Insya'allah, this year, gonna do a video shoot. Currently, getting ready video cams. 1 hand held, 2 head cams. Still discussing on how to direct this whole trip. We are no pros & experience videographer.

I have some video experience from the Army - perhaps do some trial runs with the head-cams before the event; might be good to test equipment capability & work out technical bugs.

Yes bro. We've already purshased 3 head cams & a hand held to prepare for this event. Will do a trial ride soon.

 

The interest in doing these genre events is quite personal & sensetive too.

 

But it do benefit some small group of riders who would like to learn & discover the existance of mosques in Singapore. We do pray 5 times a day but at times, due to our commitments, be it work or leisure, we tend to skip due at some period with an excuse for not having a proper place to pray like, the mosque without knowing the existance of it which not knowingly may be around there, few hundred metres away, perhaps.(In riding/ despatch/delivery context).

 

The initial intention then was just to execute what I've promised myself once I've got my first bike when I hd passed my 2B licence, just a gesture of my thanks to the Almighty. Which is to ride all mosques in Singapore in 1 day. That was in 2005. Due to in-experience & poor coordination/ planning, I got myself on fire & got criticised big time by forumers in here.

 

With strong support & motivation from some riders out there & learn from my mistakes, I got up, modify this event & invite more riders.

 

Progressively, I got to meet with a few riders with similar interest. Very rare interest indeed. As time past, we say goodbye to Bidadari Mosque @ Potong Pasir which was demolished in 2006 to make way for the Circle line. We welcome the new mosque, Mawaddah Mosque @ Buangkok and waiting for another 2 new mosques which will be build in years to come...

 

Well, looking forward for the coming Ramadhan to come.

Suggestion: I've some methods to create inexpensive camera mounts on bikes; and next month I'll be able to fit up to 3 cameras on mine.

 

It seems like a good idea to maximise footage taken from the convoy so whomever's doing postprocessing can 'play director' shifting perspective from rider to rider. Also a form of redundancy.

 

Although quality of footage will vary from camera to camera, creative editing can still make use of low quality shots.

 

Also, 'on site' footage crew may be a good idea to take videos of the convoy passing or arriving at destinations. Well, not ALL destinations can have a ground camera crew but a 'scout' bike can be sent to the next destination ahead of schedule in order to get footage of the convoy main body.

 

That stated an independent camera bike that does not follow the convoy in formation can be a useful tool indeed... just imagine a sweeping shot of a dozen bikes in formation going past.

Began today's ride to Bukit Panjang Al-Iman... met a few riders there.
