At the moment the spark jumps the gap it causes a high frequency burst of energy, this is known as RFI (radio frequency interference). This is why resistor spark plugs were introduces in the mid 1960's. Placing a resistor within the spark plug suppresses the RFI. Without resistor plugs in your car you can experience static on your radio as well as interfere with other sensitive electronic equipment. Some later model vehicles as well as newer Powersport engines must use resistor plugs for a proper "talkback" to the electronic ignition. Outboard marine Capacitive Discharge Ignition (CDI) such as used on some Johnson and Evinrude marine engines require a special inductive type resistor (such as a Champion Q-type or NGK Z-type). Use of non-inductive resistor type plugs on these motors can cause misfire and poor performance.

For automotive CDI high output ignition systems systems (such as Mallory, MSD, Crane and Accel), refer to Resistor plugs for race engines for information relative to modified motors.

I am having non-resistor plug too because of wrong purchase (forgot the plug number).

Currently I still not yet installed it because afraid the resistor problem to my wave.

Anyone and any advice on this?

Spark plugs r cheap. Better not risk your engine. Get the right spark plug better than having a problem engine.

Confirm and for Denso it's IU20.

Point to note.

Iridium plugs for waves not reccomended.

U need constant high RPM to get the smooth ride.

Slow speeds and traffic jams, the bike will jerk alot.

Stay stock.

It's the best !

Care to explain why u say using a plug of heat rating 8 is ok ??

Manufacturers rec is either 6 or 7 for NGK plugs....

8 is colder than 7.

Thanks.

Thai R last time i use stock spark plug.

Then i got the urge to try the NGK G-Power Spark Plugs. I go to one distributor and ask him "Uncle got NGK G-Power for Honda Wave 125?" Then he say got and he gave me one which states NGK G-Power the code is CR8EGP. So I think should be ok ba for the 8 heat rating i guess?

U got any comment on this Thai R?

Will be waiting for for comments....

Since u've been nagging on my tail for this....

got this info off NGK website....

Heat range selection is vital to ensure optimum performance of spark plugs.

A spark plug's optimum operating temperature is between 450 degrees C and 870 degrees C. Spark plug tip temperatures outside this range can occur when an incorrect heat rating is selected. Viz:

When the heat rating is too high:

The spark plug temperature remains too low and causes deposits to build up on the firing end; the deposits offer an electrical leakage path that gives rise to loss of sparks.

When the heat rating is too low:

The spark plug temperature rises too high and induces abnormal combustion (pre-ignition): this leads to melting of the spark plug electrodes as well as piston seizure and erosion.

NGK Spark Plugs pioneered the use of a copper cored electrode in 1958, which enables a spark plug to heat up quickly and also dissipate heat quickly giving an ultra wide heat range. It is essential to use a spark plug that fits a specific engine and its conditions of use.

As spark plugs are positioned in the head of an engine, their analysis can give a good indication of how your engine is operating.

change together with engine oil change.

abt 4000 to 5000 km
