u can pay installment up to 1 year without any interest charge..

however, they will see the premium of yr policy..

if too low, they cannot allow u to drag a year..

but u hav to pay up front 3 months of the installment pay 1st..

u can call this number, 63462663 to get the full detail and u can even ask them to prepare the policy 1st..

so when u visit the branch u prefer, u need not to take a queue number..

instalment plan not only for credit card users, jus go NTUC branch, u just have to sign a GIRO form. they will deduct installment for GIRO,

if ur insurance is above $300 but less than $500, u are only eligible for the 6 mths installment plan.

for above $500, you can take up 1 year installment plan. This is what i gather from NTUC.

P.S: Dont quote me.

btw its interest free but 1st mth payment is 2mths...

e.g. total insurance for 1 year is S$1,200/=

S$1,200 / 12 months = S$100 per month

1st month payment = S$100 x 2month (upfront payment) = S$200

2nd month payment = S$100 only

3rd month payment = S$100 only

"

"

12th month payment = S$0/=

i'm currently paying my insurance via installment...

will there be no ending paying as long u are still riding if takes up 1 year, before yr installment ends for this year,yr next premium will come and continue from again. :giddy:

Paying mine using installaments also.

My premium is ard $500. I added in the road tax aof $100 and paying about $90 for 6 months. But I paid 2 months in advance and this month is the final month.

Not so bad.

There is interest for the road tax. But for $1, its negligible.

Oh, and newbie, not everyone is as rich as you, I'm very sure. This is a useful utility for them to pay monthly with no interest. Could be they had no chance to save up for a lump sum, as in my case where the cash I saved for the insurance, I had to spend for an emergency repair on my house ceiling.

Its nice to have no commitments, no family and only yourself to spend on, right?

But nobody asked for your opinion whether the guy has money for insurance to ride or not.

Coz if he or other people wanted your opinion, we would have asked for it.

Just to share with you guys about NTUC installment scheme.

Those who are under installment scheme have to pay on time. Otherwise, they will terminate you policy and blacklist you in their system. Which means it would be harder for you to insure with NTUC if u r blacklisted.

It is wise to plan your cashflow properly. If policy cancelled and u r still riding. Traffic police will charged with 'no insurance coverage'. Worse still, no coverage if kenna accidents.

Check and choose carefully.

After I renewed with NTUC, Penny from Everbright helped me check how much if renew with AIG. Knnz, could have saved close to $100 if I did with AIG.

But no choice. This year have to do installments.

there was a time,

when insurance renewal,

can only done by bike shops,

but now we can...

but i guess not all companies though. cso i remembered when i wanted to renew my WR's insurance with mitsui, they asked me whether the bike is still under loan. which was not.
