How fast did police found ur stolen bike?

i lost my bike and am unable to sleep over it. hopefully some bros or sis with the "experience" (never to happen again!) can give me a guide on how long to wait...

the bike tat was stolen was not mine but it was a pizza hut bike (rented from sh cycle).. meaning it had fire and theft insured.. but it only took the police ard 5 days to apprehend the culprits.. maybe because the 2 gundus were disassembling the bike under void deck at 3am in the morning... btw.. sorri for ur lost..

it's a black yamaha rxz (new model) with givi box, license plate FBB6125A

totally stock, except for the box... not even 4 months old

 

stolen between 8pm - 11pm on 11/10/2007 from a carpark in ang mo kio... thief ripped out my front probation plate and threw it on the grass patch beside the lot.

 

irritating... just pumped full tank of petrol... can't help thinking the thief is enjoying himself with my petrol now...

 

all those living around amk area... do keep an eye on your bikes... esp. at night... a thief is on the loose... :angry:

oh gosh, not another rxz. mine also first hand stock bike. wat's up with the theif man? have u lodge police report? u nid to inform lta as well by faxing ur police report for them to cancel ur road tax and coe. if u r 3rd party fire and theft, then also inform insurance company. not toosure if onli 3rd party, but if u pay by installment, will nid to get in touch wit ur motordiam soon. hope u find ur bike soon.

lodged a police report once i found it was missing, the policeman went to my bike lot and took photos of it and my probation plate on the grass... like that is going to be any use

 

just went to cancel insurance today... but i didnt know about the lta thing though... guess i have to go cancel road tax and coe tomorrow...

 

luckily its fully paid already...

 

worst thing is... my sister paid for half the bike using her hard earned $ and i promised her i'll take good care of it until she gets her license... so i tried to take good care of it, never even dropped it once before... now its missing... feel really terrible now

 

every time i hear rxz engine sound my heart skips a beat... now feel really helpless n don't know what to do... really hope i'll get it back soon... :cry:

a fren told me that i should not hope to get the bike back anymore... cause most likely if it is recovered it is after it has been abandoned... n by that time e bike not worth having anymore... good parts swapped out and all covered with scratches and dents, etc... he's seen many abandoned bikes before n he said they all don't look too good.

 

n he said, frankly speaking, e police don't give a **** about stolen bikes

 

he told me it would be best if i just claimed what i could from insurance and then bought a new second hand bike... so sadly i think i have to write off my darling bike...

 

but the worst thing is, security in my carpark is obviously not that good, and my fren said i'm likely to be targeted again by those thieves. in that case, it is a very frustrating situation... on one hand i don't want to own a junk heap, on the other hand it does not make sense to buy a good bike (even a second hand) and have it disappear again after a few months.

 

i'm pretty frustrated now... damn these thieves... now i can't even get a proper replacement!

les_rider, great that you found your bike! maybe it was caught for traffic offence rather than abandoned so the parts were still intact...

 

u ride a hayabusa? wow, that's one of my favorite bikes! haven't seen any girls on busas around amk though...

 

still no news of my bike... waiting... waiting... after hearing all my fren's comments... i'm really nt optimistic anymore... wondering whether i should get a new bike cause things will always turn up when u dun need them anymore... haha

my sentiments the same. dunno whether to buy a 2nd hand bike, wat if buy then police found it? heard a lot of ppl got cheated, so dunno what to do.

 

by the way, at least police got go and take photo. mine said go and take a look. next day i went there, the broken ignition still on the floor. if this is CSI, they would have failed. i ask them to patrol my area, nvr see at all. call them, they say not enuff ppl. probly due to Hari Raya, but shdn't police shd also be alert? now i walk around nitely myself. if i dun see ani police car by next week, i m going to complain to MP and see whether they realli got no manpower or not!

the police told me they'll go and take photo, later a patrol car came and the police officer took photos and returned my probation plate. i asked them if they could get fingerprints from it but they said it's not possible... dunno whether it's really not possible or they just don't bother...

 

haha police patrol also not much use... my area always have patrol cars coming and going all the time... morning, afternoon and at night... sometimes they ask us why we are loitering around... but in the end bike still kena stolen

 

gd alarm... thats a pretty good idea... maybe i'll consider that for my next bike...

ya i guess u should install alarm to keep pranksters away.

but pro thieves, cross fingers.. do practise handlebar lock but since yrs is RXZ, u need to put on mainstand, that might be a problem.. disc brake lock?

they didnt even bother to test 4 fingerprints, i pointed out the plate on the ground and asked them, "do you think it's possible to get any fingerprints from this?" and they just pick it up and return to me saying "it's not possible because the surface is rough"

 

probation plate surface very rough meh?

 

my rxz i always park sidestand... cuz actually i have problem putting it up on mainstand... no strength... have to get my sis to put up on mainstand for me when i lubricate the chain...

 

last time i brought bike for servicing... e mechanic specially told me that mine is a good bike, must cover it and lock the wheels... but i never cause it's inconvenient and i thought my area is safe... so don't assume that just because your area is relatively safe means that nothing will happen... maybe its only considered safe for humans (as in few robberies, etc.) but not for vehicles (vehicle theft)... sigh
