Hi, cruisers,

I am considering of down-grading to a lower cc ride. Due to certain reasons, I can't go touring that often, so my current ride is kind of under-utilized.

Anybody has any idea how much OTR is a brand new Dragstar 400 and a Dragstar 1100? Actually what are the differences between a Dragstar and a V-star, except for their difference in cc?? They don't look much different to me lei...

I was surfing Hong Leong website, but the prices were not reflected there.

Didn't expect the Dragstar 1100 and the V-stars to be so much heavier than a Yamaha FJR... :)

Any advices is kindly appreciated. Please do not flame me cos I am a newbie to cruisers.

Thank you all very much for any advices.

Thanks!! :)

Dragstar & V-star both same2.

Why 2 different name?

For Asia & some European countries the marketing name is Dragstar but

for the US market, the word DRAG is being replacesd wif V as in V-star due to the name DRAG is aready a trademark name of another US company.

the dragstar or vstar 400cc & 1100cc in terms of looks are pretty much similar. Except the enjin displacement got differ lah. oh ya rdtax n machine price oso differ. not forgetting the insurance premium lah.

so choose ur ride wisely before signing cos if u dun -------> ur backside will get itchy again (scratch, scratch)

Thanks very much for your advice, sgstarrider. Yes, that is why I am still thinking hard. To ride a litre bike in Singapore is too much of a luxury and under-utilized.

ever thought of getting a cheap 2nd hand dragstar to mod? hahaha.. here i go again....

Don't tempt! hahah.. It'll be fun to mod a Draggie Custom, but sometimes I feel the 400 abit under powered, 'specially now after riding class 2 bikes. Like the whole world is standing still. hee. And class 2 bikes are a bit out of my budget to take apart to mod. Heart feel pain when pocket feel pain.

If you mean brand new, both models is selling around the same price between S$12,000 to S$14,000. You could check out Hong Leong and Loois Motor. :)

Of course! Be it Dragstar Classic, Boulevard or Silverwing; these bikes are suitable for touring within their cruising speed.

I always like a cruisers. Actually during my CL2A days two years, I always wanted to get a Dragstar. There was a FT3302 Dragstar at the bike shop I visited. I actually placed a deposit for it liao. But then the boss suddenly tell me there are some legal issues with that bike. So I had no choice but to settle for a FS Super 4.

Y down-graded? Letr's meet for kopi, then we chat lah... :)

Get it all!!! hahaha...

haha.. I wish too. If I am filthy rich and can afford it, I will definitely keep my current ride, and get a Dragstar as a "ka-tak"... hahaha...

Sorry, Dragstar riders, I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful or trying to be-little a Dragstar by saying I use a Dragstar as a "ka-tak"...

I hope you Draggies riders don't get the wrong idea.

But I can't afford both...
