Suzuki the engine tends to rough all the way... i mean really from startin the engine.. till u max it out still the rough/coarse sound is still there....

Yeah I totally agree with you dude. That's why I'm looking either at Yoshi or Giannelli now...

But then is again up to the rider. must see whose Balls bigger at the end of the day will win

Do it safely dude, sometimes letting go of our ego on the road makes us enjoy riding longer. I have been slice off many times before, I just ignore them & ride on. Pardon me but not targeting S4 riders but hey! I used to ride Spec 3 before also u know!

but guys, if you're willing to spend of cos you'll archive better results

Very very true...

Hey all experts!

between a S4 and GSR400 which one (at the moment) the best resell value? I mean between 2 bikes in good condition, which one should get a better resell compare to its purchase price? I am thinking to get one or the other, for a couple of years before getting my class2 :-p

then... what should be a fair price for a S4 or a GSR400(2007 or 2008)? Good condition, normal milleage, no extras etc... just to see what all of you think about it!

thx for your help guys

I think people would say if u planning to get a class 2 u should go for S4.

I just recently became a GSR 400 owner, bought it at Looi's for 12.5 k machine price. 08 model.

The Super 4 : Revo is going at same price.

Spec 3 was going around 9.5 - 10.5.

For me I was always a Honda supporter, deep bass engine, easy spare parts, reliable and all that... But when trying the super 4, it just somehow felt simple. GSR I have to admit is more complicated. I mean based on the designs you can see their difference in heritage.

Super 4 2 simple meters: 1 RPM 1 Speed. everything is integrated. Extended signal lights, single pipe.

GSR 400: 1 RPM meter and the rest are all digital. The front signals are embedded as are the exhaust (Not a grammar error, it's a twin exhaust bike).

And personally, being at 1.85 m, the posture of the s4 is okay, not exactly comfy but not uncomfy, just okay. I felt more confident on the GSR because it was slightly more elevated. And the tank supported your legs well. Unfortunately i don't feel that way with the s4.

If we compare "apple" to apple so to speak, taking the S4 Revo against GSR 400, both are fuel injected... I would feel that the GSR offers more in terms of value, digital meters, sliders, and all. However, I also acknowledge that if i need parts, any shop does a Honda S4, I can't really confidently say that about the Suzuki, but we shall have to see.

All in all, this is my opinion.

"Wolves and sheep will live together in peace, and leopards will lie down with young goats, calves and lion cubs will feed together, and little children will take care of them. Cows and bears will eat together, and their calves and cubs will lie down in peace." Isaiah 11:6-8

My GSR400 is mostly stock.. only change the air filter to BMC.. I tried to do top speed at BKE when i came back from JB with max petrol full tank.. I drag all the gears to rmp11 and at gear6 the speed stop increasing at 166km/h.. the throttle was hold at full turn for quite few seconds seeing no increase then i close it.. I think GSR was design for comfortable riding.. so i think the top speed wasn't very important matter.. for the pickup power is still acceptable for me..

Given my initial impression of you, you seem like a person that will get a class 2 bike immediately after TP. If so, I suggest you get a CB400 because it will hold its value way better than a GSR400. Top speed in my spec 3, I hit 180+ if I remember correctly, but not recommended because of the wind resistance you will experience.

Hi bro,

For me,GSR400 is a ownsome bike.i also bought my GSR400 immediately after i pass my 2A license last yr. now riding about 1 yr.going to take my class 2 licence soon.Mayb i wil let go my GSR400 for latest GSR750 if my financial condition allowed :)

Heard that someone GSR Top speed is only @166kmh. i think something goes wrong with his bike. My GSR400 can easly hit 175~180kmh at NSHW.been hit max speed at 189kmh and it stop increasing even i holded longer.my bike with simota air filter, iridium spark plug and stock ori exhaust, ori size of tyre and sprocket too.so the digital meter reading shown must be accurate.

(Take note:once hit around 175kmh n above,if u intend to increase ur speed some more, must change ur riding posture by lying down to decrease the wind resistance.bcoz the 400cc horse power is limited there to against the wind resistance force.

Acceration quite decent for me,and the handling and cornering is better than s4,i like the most is the radiator big enuf and the cooling system is owesome(for suzuki).i seldom hit more than 90'c(even ride up cameron),riding temp always keep around 83-85'c.

So,dun think so much already.Choose GSR400 instead of S4.

You cannot do top speed with gear 6. Gear 6 is meant for cruising, the speedo will rise but very slow.Gear 5 whack all the way untill redline is the best as the meter will rise faster. Not recommended for long period due to stressing of engine. Ya the GSR400 can go more than that. Been there done that hehehe.
