torn between the 2.

s4 is reliable and sparts are widely avaible.

however the looks of gsr400 just got the upper hand, yet heard from fren that it's not as powerful as the spec3 and harder to maintain

Someone has started a similiar thread before. Anyway here goes

s4 is reliable and sparts are widely avaible. Ans: it has been ard so long ..of course lah

however the looks of gsr400 just got the upper hand: Ans can't agree with you more.

heard from fren that it's not as powerful as the spec3 and harder to maintain: Ans both cap at 53bhp so half fight... found a qoute from a new found friend "It is the rider not the machine"

lastly I have more pro for you to consider. GSR has lots of accessories( from Japan & Europe) and u mod can it to your personal preference that u can call yr own.

anyway, i miss wildcard.

the same as how you do to S4, by-pass it. for GSR, you also have the option of re-mapping the ECM.

but for what my butt tells me, the handling of this bike sure beats S4 anytime...(just look at my rear tyre and you know why... hee...)

:cheeky:

Above all have been mentioned i wld like to add-on saying tht a GSR shld have better handling with a rear suspension is mono shock. I feel the brakes are better too. Another typical suzuki characteristic is the power comes in at a usable range typically at lower RPM where u accelerate most of the time in local riding. Where as Spec 3 power kicks in only aft the Vtec is activate at 6k rpm.

Correct me...suzuki insurance normally lower than honda.

The only pros i can think for a S4 wld be easily available chiong parts as its a common bike n got gd resale value.

How about the price? Anyone can advice? First hand how much and is there any 2nd hand around? A fren looking for one..

otr price diff currently is about 2k in favour of the s4. but i think its money well spent on the gsr, modern bike with modern looks, efi, better handling, & of course, underseat exhausts.. :thumb:

2nd hand? unlikely, only heard of 1 gsr600 finding a new owner.

mods done:

powerplant device, fuel injector venturis,

underseat cylindrical air filter, bassy stock cans,

super-sensitive in-built gyroscope, inertia-based accelerometer,

streamlined panniers (zero drag),

taped up wires, exposed grounding wires,

TBC mounted, custom tire pressures.

litre bikes watch out! :gun:

It depends on how much comfort you are willing to give up for the slightly less common and more expensive parts.

S4 has been around for super long time so their parts are very very common. In terms of accessories, I really think S4 got more. Locally. Both might cap at 53hp, but those are really just factory figures. The only point of differentiation really comes from Dyno charts and curves.

But having said all these, my heart still goes to the GSR. Head turner factor and how much you like the bike is really important to the rider. It really makes you just want to ride the bike everyday and be admired by others. That is something you can't get out of the S4.

New GSRs can go to Mah Motor.

Dun think u b able to find 2nd hand GSRs as yet.

Met a GSR400 rider at motoworld the other day, he was an ex-super4 rider.

He took the risk to switch over, and ended up a happier man.

His only dissatisfaction with the bike was the quietness of the exhaust.

I would like to get a brand new one, becoz second hand sometimes alot of problems...

Would not wanna ride a S4, been testing out my fren's S4s, sucks to the core...

I still trust in Suzuki engine more, just that i can't find a Suzuki 150..
