went to try liow. sigh... too high for comfort, looks like gotta give up riding a Fazer liow

did you put both leg down? feel like some thing stuck in between your ass rite? but if you use to ride with only 1 leg down it feel ok

stopping is the problem , but have you ride around, really really enjoyable

like ridding on a horse with a lot of power

so what bike you thinking of now

yeah... did put my both legs down, felt really awkward like u said. salesman also recom FZ1 saying its frame is smaller but it was just as bad

not concerned about riding coz dun wan to touch tarmac  parking can get down n push. more concerned about stopping coz didn't want to look like riding a huge scrambler when riding the Fazer

went down to Looi's yesterday, viewed the new Deauville NT700... white one classy, metallic black one chio :D

most important, it has a dial (located at bottom left side) to lower bike (softer suspension) plus if "slice" a bit of cushion off (cushion quite thick)... comfortable riding height for riding and stopping. but more ex than FZ6 lor... OTR $18k (promo price):faint:

now looking around if can find a decent used NT650... saw one nice FW plater at De Xing but sold for $6k last week

any idea how's the deauville?

got friends selling?

may all be well and happy

there're already 3 threads on deauville 650 & 700... seemed to be a more than decent bike.

Deauville is a Great bike. I have been riding it for almost 2 1/2 yrs now.

Below are some of the advantage of DV :

1. Fuel usage

ON full tank(including reserve) you can travel up to 400km. I'm clocking between 21-22 km/litre.

2. Storage Space

DV have great storage space.

3. Less Problematic

Compare to the Super Four(Project Big One) which I used to own one before, it is DEFINITELY ess problematic (don't encounter rectifier burn-out problem nowadays.)

4. Power

- power wise is DEFINITELY more powerful than the Super Four.

- I find that the DV is faster to respond, I don't need to throttle much yet moving off is fast and smooth.

- DV gives me the power to overtake as and when is necessary. Cheers !!

may all be well and happy

FZ6 a VERY SMALL storage compartment, if to install alarm that's the only place, better install yourself so can squeeze every inch out of it and you left with 1 tools bag and 1 rain pant

Hornet ( Please fill in guys )

enfant,

care to explain what is the meaning of " the engine is too peaky,"

for your bike

is it the engine super noisy?

is it the valve knocking and pinging loudly?

is it true that yamaha engines last only 20,000km and then need to re allign the shim and valve clearance due to the valve clearance becomes loose and a loud noise "takking"

if this is true...yame engine surely sucks

I rode the 06 Fazer, and despite some minor flaws, found it a very good bike. Not sure about the new model... should be better I believe, cause they corrected some problems like the TPS. Riding a Honda VFR now, finishing wise, is better than Yamahas, and also generally very happy with it. Not sure about the Hornet. But I don't think there's much to distinguish these 2 very good bikes unless u plan to take it to track or whatever. Everyday road-riding shouldn't pose much of a distinction. So, buy what u like, and at a price that's not going to be a pain. My 2 cents please.
