Hi,

I'm the one who posted the poster. Eddie Wong is a senior and well respected biker. He passed away in April this year at Nakhon Sitammarat on the way back from Kok Samui. He was the organiser for last year Betong Charity Bike Fest.

I'm a frequent South Thailand rider (solo). Betong, Danok and Hatyai are safe. If you wanna enjoy the road in South Thailand, do it in the daylight......

Thanks

hey friends,

i have already taken leave from the 10-14 aug. Planning to ride up to thai but haven found any khaki yt. Should be either going to the betong bike week or hatyai.

i haven never been to betong before so i need some info.. Is betong a town or a city? What can i expect to see there? Is it easy to get hotel rooms? Any good hotel to recommand in regards to safe bike parking?

i understand that to get to betong, i have to get off North South Highway somewhere after Ipoh and get onto route 4. May I know which exit to take? and along route 4, is it as easy to find petrol station as on northsouth?

Lastly, anyone going up for this bike week? maybe we can go together or meet there...

thanks

Hi guys, I'm planning to malaysia this weekend.

will be driving my car up. I need some you guys to recommend me some places to go that is great for a short family vacation (wif 2 young kids)...

I do not mind parking the car and taking a boat to some island paradise...

It can be a beach resort or family theme park, or even a stay at the longhouse somewhere...

driving hours best not to exceed 6hrs, cos of the kids...

thanks for the recommendations!

How about Rompin ?

Cherating seems a lil too long than your 6hrs time constraint.

East Malaysia is less populated and relatively less developed than West, not very much commercial theme park/family resort as compared.

For a family retreat on 4 wheeler, I dont see much there. But for a scenic ride on bikes, quite a different sensation which I believe you experienced that :D
