does anyone happen this before?

u r increasing speed at gear 5 ard 60/70km/h, whole bike like loss of power, will get jam and jerking and the gear 5 indicator went missing, then i close throttle and open again, then is fine again, what's wrong isit?

similarly, while decreasing speed ard 60km/h, the handle-bar vibrate vigorously, what's wrong?

thanks in advance:)

there could be several things to check:

Issue 1

How long ago was your air filter and carburetor serviced, if no, pls do so, that should eliminate some variables.

As for the gear indicator missing, it could be the incomplete engaging of gear, that's not a big issue, happens to me sometimes when my bike is not working at optimum capacity, cruising at 60km on 5th gear is a little low, you're on the borderline of low power.

Issue 2

Handle vibrating, check front tyre pressure, could be low. If pressure is ok, then check your steering column bearings. they could be loose or worn out.

If all else fails, look for Alex, he might be able to give you an honest opinion. Generally, some when there is some unknown issues I go back to Boon Siew to solve, they are familiar with the bike. I have built a rapport with them so my issues are settled at minimum cost.

i just change air filter and serviced carb not long ago and my front tyre pressure is 220 rear is 230.

Alex checked steering bearing before and is fine but the mechanics say is rear box that causes the handle bar to vibrate?

read thru previous posts here and some also say they got vibrate at 70km/h but after change to certain EO, the problem reduce.

I drag to 40km/h+ in gear 4 then change gear 5, the bike start to jam and jerk and gear 5 indicator no light, then i also can hear the "tak tak" sound like coming from the chain or sprocket there, i still using stock one, isit time to change a new one?

btw what is piston jam? i don't understand this.

thanks

The rear box being loaded does have an effect on your steering cos the rear is too heavy. Something is not right, normally the 4th gear bring you up to 60km/h before you need to change gear, if you are dragging the bike at 4th at only 40 km/h.

5th gear light does not light up clould be your bulb blown, if you are free, i could help to take a look and assess what is wrong.

Piston jammed, you would be able to even start your bike. Because the piston is already stuck in the combustion chamber.

If black, its just carbon build up, just try to blow your engine harder to clear your exhaust.

If white,

your mechanic screwed up your overhaul, the valve seals are gone. They may have not changed it, during the overhaul or could be your piston rings worn out, causing the engine oil to enter the combustion chamber and burn with the fuel.

The above are just general guides,

Who did the overhaul for you? Its best to have it checked out with a reputable mechanic.

Pls share.

My bike is now out!! Yeah... feel good as new..!!! yup it is the valve seals. need to be replace.. now i really enjoying my smooth ride..:box::box::box:

thanks Everyone!!!

Much awaited for west siders, one of the better shops around, just behind my work place. Next time don't have to take leave if want to do something to my bike.

Hope Alex is still there to control the show. Nice guy and reasonable prices. Few shops have good ethics when dealing with customers. This is one shop where I don't have to bargain. The prices stated are reasonable if you are technically inclined and understand the work involved in your repairs.

Looking fwd to having a gd shop here in the west! :cheer:

cos i just got skinned by a shop in Alexandra. :faint:

cheers to Western riders! :cheeky:

Glad that you sorted out the prob, and have confidence to continue to ride the CBF, some would have given up.

Like mentioned before, its a good bike with a little TLC it will last. Recently, I gave my 2 year old bike a face lift with a new coat of paint. Will share with you guys some pics later.

Hi guys..need help here. Can anyone tell me how much is the cost for replacing front brake disc? I was quoted $65 by a shop. Is that expensive? Also which shop in the east side is good for wheel alignment cos i met wif a minor accident last week. Thanks for replying.

If you're referring to disc, then it is a good price, if its brake pads, then the guy is out to chop you.

normally, there is no wheel alignment for small bikes,

if your rims are bent, change it, most parts for our bike is cheap.

Prepare RM$250 approx S$110 and follow me on our Hawkz Flight and get "RPMed"

Pls note that this is not a cheap meter, Its a original "KOSO" from Taiwan.

comes in 2 dial colours, white and black, both are blue light illum.

So how? I think our friend(Stevoo) who tried to get the meter from HK has fallen into a hole some where without internet

this is the next best thing and cheap too considering the work involved. If interested, we will need to go early cos the job take approximately 1.5hrs.

Actually thought of squeezing a volt meter in there but not enough space.

Guys any idea on where I can redo my bike design to its original condition? The paint starting to fade and scratches are getting real ugly. Lol... Some pillions I take keep accidentally scratching the side as they get on my bike...

I've had this:

[ The price we offer is about $350.00 including labour charge and sticker. ] from Replica Spray Painting. [ http://www.replicaspraypainting.com ]

This is the current look for my bike... Planning to restore it to totally original. Paintwork and stickers and all.

Actually, Boon Siew sends some panels to teo spray but I don't like them cos they take too long between 1 to 2 weeks
