My bike is due for service at the end of this mth for all of the mentioned items..

I'll see any difference after that.

Btw, I've been using stock fairings since I bought.. Is there any difference changing to race fairings other than the outlook and aerodynamics?

Some china race fairing blocked t ram air and only drill holes. Stock is wiremesh.

The air does not flow properly. Just gotta cut it.

i think its more advisible to change the rectifier n battery too as any faulty part will interlink to each other n thus shorthen the life span of another parts if u nv replace it although it is still functioning at that point of time

I change EO+filter every 5K and EO+filter, clean air filter (BMC race), plugs every 15K as per my mechanic's recommendation.. I use normal coolant so I topup as and when it's inadequate..

ur coolant shldnt need to be top up. It shld nt even evaporate away. if u does top up regularly then u better check for leakage.

when was the last time u lube ur chain or replace the spocket n chain. when was the last time u did ur valve clearance, cam chain replace? even changing wheel bearing can make quite a big diff

good race fairing is lighter n more flexible.

Actually there is a step by step diagnosis to find out whether it's a battery, rectifier or coil issue. If trial and error, will just end up spending more money.

frm wat i heard, yamaha coil dun seems to be so lasting n its tps sensor also not as durable. not sure how true it is. as for battery, average lifespend is abt 1yr+. i recommend not to install those unneed accessory in ur bike. do a headlight switch to off ur headlight while idling, grounding might help too.

I don't topup coolant every now and then. But i notice the extra coolant container gets drained after like a few mths or so. then I topup. So far I don't see any coolant leakage on the places that I parked so I guess its fine right?

 

These few days the weather have been rough and unpredictable so I lube my chain as and when I have a chance to and its dry weather. Maybe on the sprocket and chain wearability part is where I missed out. I've used them since I bought the bike almost 2 years ago..

 

Btw, how much mileage do I have to clock in order to do the valve clearance and the cam chain replacement?

u can feel ur exhaust fume after u warm up. check for moisture contain. coolant container shldnt drop in level.

as for spocket, 2 yrs is abt time to change for OEM set up but also depend on how well u maintain it.

Valve clearance n cam chain need to check ur user manual.

Hi all, have a qn to ask. I have 2 offers currently, a 07 stock r6 at 10k and 08 stock r6 at 12k.. Is the extra 2k worth the $$$ ? Apart from slightly minor fairings changes, frame and internal engine mods. Is it really worth the extra 2k? Also I heard 08 models are more reliable compared to 06-07. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks a lot

Bro. Its in the Used Bike Section. You can find lots of R6 now. Year from 02 to 09 to choose from. But you might need time to look for it. =) Hope this helps.
