Bro, is it expensive? UOTE=Blueblood;7887506]error code 18 is exhaust servo motor stuck. get it replace or u can use a servo eliminator to by-pass e code and remove the whole big heavy servo motor.

 

in e mean time u can remove the cables to e exahust valve and let e bike exhale better. if the valve is in e close position n cant open, gd luck to ur engine

 

im not sure hw much OEM servo cost but a eliminator is abt 120???

but do check if ur exhaust valve spring is working fine. a stuck valve will also cos e same prob.

hi guys. after starting my bike at neutral there's this ticking sound coming from the engine, and it doesnt go off even after engaging to gears on the move. only after around 6k rpm when the engine sound gets pretty loud then the ticking sound is less audible. anybody experiencing the same problem or has any idea what the problem could be?

wats ur mileage.r6 engine tend to have con rod prob. maybe its time to overhaul. get it check at a gd workshop

what year you riding bro? experiencing the same sound too, like a clicking/ticking sound that get louder when I rev... (riding 05 model btw)...

Guys, sorry to jump in. Selling my '03 Yamaha R6 (COE up for renewal in Oct). Around 45,000km. Yellow. Leovince exhaust. Other than that pretty standard i think. Been running it for last 3.5 years. Anyone have a wild guess at what my little baby is worth? So hard to gauge in S'pore with so few bikes on sale. Highest bidder wins I guess!! MSG me on 9450 1354 if ur interested. cheers!

im riding 09' model, mileage only 15,000km. highly doubt it's con rod problem since there's no vibration souund, jerky movements or power loss during riding. its just this faint ticking sound which agitates me, i dont know if all the other r6's out there experience the same thing.

It's the normal yamaha ticking sound. Valvetrain sound. It's normal I wouldn't worry about it.

thanks guys for the info regarding the ticking sound. appreciate it. Intending to change tyres since mine are shinkos now. want a tyre that's good on the wet roads and is able to last for longer distances. been doing some research and heard good things about metzeler z8, might be changing to that. any one has any experience with z8, or maybe suggestions about any tyres you guys are using now? eg pilot power 2CT or pilot road?
