for 06R6 theres GPR, Hyperpro, Ohlins, Scotts and Bitubo. there may b other brands in the market. but there are the ones tt i know of. they all range from $600+ to $700+. it just depends on which brand u prefer. something to consider is after service. for Singapore, i'm quite sure of Ohlins and Bitubo if i ever need to service them. hope tis helps.

thanks alot man~! sigh.. dunno when the bike shop will release my bike~!

Gallardo vs STI ... followed by 675

Saw a short duel between a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo and a blue Subaru WRX STI.

To me, its damn interesting, as well as scary.

Was about 100m behind the slow-moving STI at Fort Road. Suddenly the Gallardo sped past the STI in preparation to turn right into ECP. STI immediately reacted! Went straight into tail-gating action. Me too, went in pursuit, to see the action. The 2 cars were fast round the right corner. I was slower rounding it. By the time I completed the corner, both cars were probably up to 100 km/h, almost entering ECP. I gas up the throttle to give chase, but feel cars got a better roll-on acceleration than bike at these speeds. Perhaps I didn't give it full throttle, or perhaps not down in lower enough gear, or perhaps these performance cars just got better roll-on past 100+ kph??? (JK, can help clarify?) Anyway, Lambo entered ECP and immediately swerved right to take 2nd-most outer lane. STI was all over its tail. I'm still at the same distance away from them. Traffic ahead of cars at 4.30pm rush hour. Lambo slowed but STI overtook it to got outermost lane, probably 150+ kph. Instinctively, Lambo swerved all the way to the left-most lane to keep pace with STI. I'm thinking, these guys had better know how exactly the speed camera ahead operates 'coz they're way above speed limits. Lambo slowed 'coz stuck in traffic. STI sped on, only to brake hard prior to speed cam. Meanwhile, I've already slowed long ago, since I'm well-aware of the existance of the speed cam, but not too sure if its shots are in this direction or the other ... better be safe than sorry. Bet the STI guy knows best in this instance. To me, the STI's an a******, racing in traffic!

Well, what struck me is (1) how scary it looks, to have 2 cars swerving all over the place in traffic and (2) how powerful the roll-on acceleration of such performance cars at speeds above 100kph, compared to bikes (while we can drop them for dead from a standing start).

Am I right about their roll-on power, or am I just chicken???

Mayb the latter 'coz while trying to follow Pauche's R6 today on NSH and 312C, its equally daunting. Feels like I'm trying to follow a 250 GP bike round bends and the acceleration of a litre bike on NSH. Coupled with the way he sliced through traffic, I just CMI. The guy's just too fast for me to follow. However, its nice to see him in action from the back. He's just so smooth!

Overall, 2 very different piece of action, while equally interesting to watch, they're also equally scary to follow. A Sunday well-spent!

Sorry, bro. Lambo too far away for me to see no. plate. Anyway, saw about 10 Lambos on NSH during recent Malacca trip, so could be any of them. Well, hope to be lucky enough to see more of such action between power cars ... so exciting!

Hi Eddie,

I've not actually compared to do a rolling start with either a bike or a sports car so can't comment on that. I guess probably you're on the wrong gears & you didn't full throttle.

But one thing i know is most of the Lambo club owners can't drive for nuts!!!

The better drivers are from the S'pore Porsche Club.

But what those 2 jokers have done is a no no! So heavy traffic! I've seen too many flashy cars crash on Sepang track & NSHW cos they can't take it when you take them on corners!

i've tried to keep up with a lambo on NSH, but couldnt. was going thru a high speed bend at NSH at abt 230kmh and he was doing at least 270-300kmh.....

cos by the time i exit the bend onto the straights, he is way ahead of me liao....

then on the way home, i saw him again!!! with at least 10+ lambos. they are on the way back from sepang. the convoy is cruising easily at 220-240kmh on NSH, inlcuding their support vehicle, which is a Volkswagon MPV.

fruitcake - any idea what kind of timing they are doing on Sepang track? i mean the lambos and the porsches.

Wah Pauche, you going bend at 230s? Yikes! :thumb:

Think we can only beat them from standing start? (The baby Lambo's are 4 wheel drive)

On Sepang track....

Standard GT3 is doing in the low 2.30s...

The Cup Car is doing the 2.22

For the Lambo's, i've no idea! :cheeky:

Btw,just for your info, there's a Time Attack on 16th Sept (9am-5pm) at Sepang to see who can clock the fastest time in a lap! Most of the local workshop will be there with their race cars so you can be sure to see some really power cars there!

Cheers :thumb:

I was refering to other types of cars (STi's , Evos etc) that take them on the corners on SIC!

Not only standing starts, but 0-160-0 km/h as well ... bike wins (Gixxer K6 for sure, but think R6 may have chance too) :shades:

Like JK, I think Pauche has nerves of steel too! On a straight road, my 675 may be slightly faster, but any hint of the slightest curve/bend, he's gone! :faint:

Well, its no shame we can't keep up with these exotic cars as they're 40 times more expensive than our bike. :nono:
