Here's a interesting fact by one forumer from U.S.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last sunday, two of my good friends decided to race, one of them just bought a brand new blue 06 R6 3 weeks ago. The other has an old 98 srad 750. The R6 is bone stock, the suzuki only has a cheap d&d slip-on and -1 in front. The R6 rider is 175 lbs while the suzuki rider is 215 lbs. We wanted to see the difference in straigh line acceleration until top speed. P.S. Both dudes are highly skill riders, they mean serious business on a bike.

So i knew that when i had my 99 R6 with -1 in front, i was even with that Suzuki until 155 mph, where he would pull on me to a higher top speed. So i told myself that 7 years later and with the 133 crank hp claim (those srad had 135), well that awesome 06 R6 should at least won the acceleration.......

So i put 80$ on it against a dude i didn't really know.

So, they tried 4 times, each time we saw the same results.

Roll on in first form 20 mph, 30mph, then from 50mph in second gear and one where the R6 was at 10 000 rpm in second........all until top speed..........

Each time, on the start the old 750 was pulling 2 or 3 lenghts on the R6, then it was even until 160mph where the 750 would slightly pull again.........

Jesus, even the srad owner can't beleive it.........But he said he had about the same results against an 636......

Well, i had to pay the dude......:thumb:

duno if its the same guy anot.. but i met a owner of a vandalised white 06r6 in JB b4.. it was the 2nd day i got my bike n my frens suggested goin over to malaysia for supper..

damn suay as the causeway was jammed.. sweat like nobody's biz pushin my hot-fan-keeps-turnin-on bike across the customs.. anyway finally got to the foodstore n there was a white 06r6 oredi parked there..

i noticed something was realli wrong.. the paint on it was like peeling off.. quite jialat.. i said hi to the owner n asked him wat hap.. he said he kena dis at his workplace in toa payoh..

in dis world.. not everyone looks at a nice bike in the same way.. mostly appreciate.. but there wil surely be some jealous red eye ****ers who cant stand others havin a better bike..

after seeing wat can happen i realli dun dare to park in ulu ulu places.. sigh.. better safe then sorry

Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong.

maybe, this lime green/white r6 is the one that got vandalised?as in the previous post by hamster,he said this lime green r6 was also spotted in toa payoh, and the vandalised one also works at toa payoh, so maybe this lime green r6 owner was initially riding a stock coloured one than decided to get this unique colour after it got vandalised?becuause i dont think many people would respray a brand new bike! thats just what im guessing, but i think should not talk to much about this bike and where it can be found! we never know what kinds of people are viewing this forum..

if i c some1 loitering ard a sportbike, especially new. i will normally go tok kok wif him n tok bout the bike or accessories his has on it blah blah blah... also to find out if he is the true owner. if i suspect he is not, then i will keep a look out on him, jus in case. if i c tt he is not the owner n trying smething funny. i will definately do smething to him, call the police or smething. I really HATE ppl like these. and i would appreciate if others do the same to my bike, as in help look out.if all sportbikers hav the same mentality n unite n bust these ppl out, guess we can help lessen this prob.

The new R6 sweet spot is only in the power band. Anywhere from below 10~11k, is a disappointment. I tried with a new srad 750, roll on at same speed, (and the R6 at abt 1~2k below 10k mark). On immediately start, the 750 pulls from the R6. But once the R6 hits 11~12.5k it slowly gains up on the 750, till 6th gear almost max rpm, the 750 pulls away again.

The R6 was made to be a track bike, focusing to handle nimble and delivery of power well on both entrance and exits on a turn. If used properly within the power band (i am still trying hard, learning to use within powerband though!), coupled by its quick, sharper and trackable capbilites, it should carve really well with sustainable exit power.

Power band itself in its focus, also gave me a letdown on its low end torque and top speed.

then again... i still like it.. killer looks also yippeee :cheer:

Ride hard & safe...
