no fuel supply to start the bike, how you wanna push start bro?

oh btw, oh a seperate issue, something to do with batt.

i learnt that for carb models you can push start when the batt is weak or flat...

but for EFI... cannot! as the batt supplies the "life" to the ECU unit... so batt flat is as good as gone! better take care of that batt there hehhee...

the other time i had a battery flat and cannot start with the starter switch but i still manage to push start with it...

Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want. It is the realisation of how much you already have.

yupz, wat i meant was jia lat = u can't proceed n it won't start unless u pump petrol la... ryte..? no petrol = cannot start..

Well bro.. I've ran outta gas twice on my R1.

1st time happened when I was on my way to JB (2nd link). I knew I was low on petrol, but insisted on chionging to see how much KM can my reserve last. However, bike gave way approximately 1KM aft 2nd link toll. I didn't attempt to start the bike as my bike was new & few months old. Since my frens were ard, I managed to *steal* some petrol. :giddy:

2nd time happened last week in the early morning approximately 8.15AM. Was on my way home... Half-way through, didn't expect my reserve was too less thus, bike stalled. Since the petrol kiosk was quite nearby & it was a busy road... I attempted to shake my bike a lil & managed to crank it up. Rode close to a petrol kiosk b4 the bike stalled again. Aft filling it up, all was fine again!

EFI/CARB petrol engines wouldn't have problem cranking when u run outta gas. Fill it up & u're gd to go... However, the same rule doesn't apply to Diesel engines.

ya, true eddy... i think my fren's r1 batt weak once... tried cranking 2 start but it won't but push starting did help... btw, any1 noes whether push starting will harm e bike's components...? rect, cdi, coil, crank shaft etc...?

From some overseas forums I've read, it seems that there's no harm done & that, it's the only alternative for such urgencies. However, I've yet to see any black/white.

My suggestion is, when ur batt's dead, either try recharging or replacing with a newer batt. I'm pretty sure no one would like to push start their bike very often.

Happened to me once... thus, once bitten, twice shy!
