been searchin high and low, hardware shops only sells the "plumbing" grade, which is too soft

Is RXK a good beginner bike?

 

Can I ask for a simple breakdown of how much money I should have in order to get my dream bike, a retro style RXK (used bike... getting every performance part working well... and minor aesthetic work done... etc)?

from my point of view, pls take wif a pinch of salt.

 

1. normal rxk bike not retro look yet, assuming COE ends by 2012 -- less than 1k(more stock more cheaper) if more u are conned

2. insurance for P-plate..900++

3. to make it retro -- time spent:hours, monetary spent: >$100..depends on what u want to do, satisfactory gain: PRICELESS

4. road tax -- $98 (pls correct me if i'm wrng)

5. few thousands to spare upon expiry of COE if you want to renew for anorther 5 or 10 years

6. cost of summon from exccesive smoke -- $70...pls invest in a good 2t.

 

maintenace, servicing

- normal engine oil, spark plug change --max $16, depends on wat type of engine oil u use

- decarbonisation of pipe - free, can do on ur own as long u have the tool.

-anything else??? hmmm....

my advice just buy stock 1st, ugly nvmind..den slow change parts by parts when u have cash to spare. most impt is the engine and invest in good 2t..

agree... get one with gd engine... the rest is secondary... can slowly change...

if not overhaul the engine alone will already be abt $500-600?

 

i just got one myself and is enjoying the ride... very relax and easy to ride, its so light...
