Thanks :D i will.. when i get hold of a camera... my phone got run over by a car haha ... - before i got my bike la hahaSo from Full to E how many km should i be doing? i pump yest about 8 l when near E le... i still feel like a bit less than i thought it could have taken.

Don't have to wait till E then pump la. Usually I reset my Odometer after I pump, then when it reaches 150-180km I pump again, looking at the hole to make sure it reach almost the top and not overflow. When you get the receipt, you see the litres you have pumped, then calculate backwards you get to know how much petrol your bike consume per km, then you'll know whether your bike running ok or not.

Get the crash bar from CKA Kaki Bukit, if I never remember wrongly is $120 a pair, get the old design, nicer IMO, just like mine. They fix it properly and safely for you. Back rest quite expensive, about $150-$180 brand new.

How much did you get your bike for and what plate? I might be selling mine soon.

hey well i just coi a fs plate. so not too bad la. but got problem here and there. crash bar so cheap ah? i asked a while ago and they said 200... sian. but a lady told me, wasn't roy. The seat roy told me 180 for brand new.

Hey guys, might need some help.

I was almost at E when i decided to pump and i had problems riding with a pillion, like bike no power and kept stalling. after pumping, i had no "power" problem any more and bike was ok again. (combined weight 180kg together haha) So what does this mean(apart from we're too fat haha)?

That night, i pumped about 9.3 L. I had done about 258km since last Full pump, so that works out to about ... 27.7km/L. Thats not very good right? shouldn't i be doing around 35? not too sure about the average.

And how come i pump from almost e- full only can pump about 10 L or less? Could there be a problem with my fuel guage? As for my Odometer, i think it works fine cause i monitor it. How come my daystar just can't seem to fit the stated capacity of 17 L ?

i scared if i ask roy all these questions he'll ask me to overhaul my engine or something. Any help would be appreciated, thanks a mil.

Bike keep stalling, can adjust the idling speed. Maybe its too low, its good to keep at at about 1.5krpm when cold engine, and about 1.8krpm when warm. That might help. Can adjust yourself with just a normal screwdriver (Not flat tip one).

As for petrol, depends on how you ride, I've tried 2 ways of riding.

1) Keep at Gear 5 with RPM around 6.5k to 7k. FC: 30km/l.

2) Keep at Gear 5 with RPM around 8k to 9k. FC: 26km/l.

I do also feel that the bike has more 'power' at full tank. But I can't afford to waste time pumping every 150km to 180km, because I travel 50km to 60km a day.

As for the fuel guage, even after the needle drop below 'E', you still can go rather a long way, because it haven't hit into your reserves. The guage is alright, its just that the needle inside the tank, I suspect its flawed like how the Daelim Roadwin is as well.

So how old are you, and where do you stay?

Yup, my idling speed is about 1k only, the next thing is, how do i adjust it with a screwdriver? i dunno what i should be tightening or loosening.

i too feel the bike has more power when full tank. And i also suspect something funky with my fuel gauge as when i pump full it points like half a cm to the right of F.

When on the highway i usually don't exceed 7k so i guess i'm doing alright fc wise.

What do you think about "opening" up my pipe? i have a friend who did it and he says it doesn't really affect his FC. He said roy did it for 40 bucks, and can "reverse" the process for inspections.

I met this daystar owner at CKA kaki bukit and he likes meeting up fello daystar riders, maybe u guys should join us for coffee some day? I stay bedok north and i'll be turning 22 in aug.

Any tips for self maintenance ? Roy said i should oil my chain twice a week. Thanks again for the help.

For 'opening' up the pipe, I have no idea what it does or what its suppose to do or the purpose it serves.

Have you met up with the others before? I think there are very little Daystar riders in the area

Well, I just turned 20 a few days back. This is only a transport bike for me, so there's no much maintenance really done up. I only kinda wash it or oil the chain when I feel like it. Because unfortunately, I'm not really into Choppers, so I didn't really concentrate so much on this bike like my 1st bike.

As for how you adjust the idling speed, here's a picture. Just start up your bike first, then start adjusting till you reach a ideal range, or something comfortable. In case your throttle cable burst, this adjustment will also come in handle especially if you're on road halfway and the throttle cable burst, knowing where to adjust will save $20 to $30 in towing fee.

Hey, thanks, i found the screw, the + one, right? i turned it clockwise(tightened) it but could only move very little, the opposite direction seemed to make my engine stall more. now my idling seems to be around 1.25? inbetween 1 and 1.5 Well i can't adjust any further, and i still stall once in a while. Sigh, my poor sick dog. lol

Technically, it should have been allowed to adjusted more. You might want to bright it down to CAK to get it tuned more.

But 1.25 shouldn't stall that much, just that it should FEEL like it might stall. Mine used to be 1.25, but I only stalled once after a E-Brake from 5th Gear, where I realised, this bike can't really handle an E-Brake, it'll fish tail, so beware! :sian:

Very beautiful indeed. How much did those saddle bags cost you and where? And how are they attached on (Under the read seat)?

Don't look like there's a lock though for the saddle bags.

Hi,

I'm intrigue by this Daelim Daystar as it really caught my eye. I actually wanted to get one when it was 1st rolled out, the 125cc version.

I've got a few questions for Daelim owners as I'm interested to get this bike.

1) Hows the servicing like...pricewise and regularity of servicing?

2) Are the servicing able to DIY...as in simple to DIY?

3) I'm thinking of getting a 2nd hand Daelim Daystar but really on a tight budget. Any ideas what's the price gonna be like OTR for a 27 year old guy with 7 years or riding experience?

Any inputs will be highly appreciated guys!

:)
