Hi Guys, just want to check with your if there is a clean & polish services in Singapore will you use this services? Or do your rather clean and polish yourself. Let's said it about $15. This price is just a gauge. Prices will be charge accrodingly to the size of the bike and with or without faring. I'm doing some savvy so Pls give as much suggestion and feedback as possible. If you choose no, maybe you can list down like why you do not want to use the service. Is it the prices or whatever reason you have.

PLs help me to vote even if you do not wish to give any suggestion or feedback as I really really needs to have the figures. Thanks a lot.

Hi alanhim, factors which will affect whether I use such services would generally be centered on:

- Service center (ie. open till nite? Dusty location? etc.)

- Type of cleaning/polishing chemicals (ie. gentle on paintwork? cleaning/polishing rags changed often? etc.)

- Skill of washing/polishing crew (due care given while washing/polishing, good technique in polishing, etc.)

For me, $15 is pretty reasonable, provided my bike/scoot is well taken care of & don't end up getting hairline scratches from the wash/polish &/or electrical system getting wet from too much of water spraying etc. :thumb:

If not, I'll feel more secured washing & polishing on my own.

If it was a mobile service that would come out I would consider using. When I clean my bike I like to degrease and scrub the road grime from the engine bottom, inside lower fairings, take off chain guard and front sprocket cover and clean out inside as well, degrease and clean chain and then apply fresh chain lube, refit, wash outside and polish all fairings. I imagine to wash and polish with this level of cleaning would be quite dirty and take a long time costing more than $15 though.

Still I will vote yes cause even if I do the degreasing of chain and engine etc myself I would still consider getting some to wash/polish the fairings if they use good products and do a good job.

Thanks for your feedback. You are right that if we will to give such an in/out services it will definitely going to take more than an hour times which what we targeted and thus cost will be definitely higher too due to more time and energy given. But nerveless, I sure that even though we didn't take off chain guard and front sprocket cover, any external part (including rims & chain) that we can see will definitely be clean thoroughly. We are thinking of the mobile service too but due to time consuming (Have to travel all the way through and flow) the price will be more expensive. If customer does not mind pay a little more extra ($3 more), I think it’s feasible for that too! :cheer:

Hey..this is quite a neutral poll

as some of the fellas raised quite a nbrs of impt qns thats why i feeling quite neutral abt it.

For me, bike to me is more like a transport vehicle, No time to wash the bike myself (actucally i am just lazy) that why i dun mind paying $15 just to get the bike washed...shining..kilat..however it brings me to some certain doubts, for example, what kind of jet spray? degreaser? polish agents? location? time spent on washing? wash by who(some employee simply dun care)??

i will suggest something like retro cafe where everybodys can pop by into the cafe with nice couches to hang ard (buddies) to drink some non-alcoholic cool drinks/deserts yet at the same we can monitor on the bikes being washed. best if there are some entertainment as well. a big TV for those die hard soccer fans, a shop that sells all those essential items. a svc ctr for bike ..many more....am i dreaming?

Heee..just my 3 cents worth...

actucally i always hv plans up in my head to open something like that. mayb for those whois interested who can talk abt it man..

Hi Somebody,

Actually there is no water involve in the whole process of cleaning the bike. That's why I call it clean and polish and not wash and polish. Time spent on the bike will be minimum 1 hour. And the person that washes your bike will be of course me myself, as I prefer to clean it myself. I agree that some employee simply dun care therefore inspection will be made before hand over back to the customer. Area that’s not satisfied will be clean again.

You do have a very good idea of having a cafe where everybody can pop by into the cafe with nice couches to hang around for some non-alcoholic cool drinks/deserts yet at the same can monitor on the bikes being washed but with all these costs, I don’t think it’s will be just $15 anymore. And if prices are too expensive, how many people do you think will come for the services? And this is going to be a big capital involve too with so much thing in!

Don’t worry, me no offence.

If you have seem my bike, you will believe me that no water can still make your bike clean and shine at the same time. Check this out! I try not to use water unless it's really nessecary! Cos water with soap tends to make your bike rust more faster! (Screw and metal parts) But in some case where there's lot of sand stuck there I will still use water to wash away the part where sand are stuck only but not for the entire bike washing though.

Don't believe? Believe it!

$15 for a wash sounds reasonable provided it's a clean job

I think a mobile service would be good. Also, I would differentiate between a "quick wash" that gets most of the bike decent looking and a full detail job. You might also offer waxing and polishing service. And, beyond the wash rate, and hourly rate would be good.

If you were to really detail my Valkyrie, then wax all of it, it would be a good 4 to 5 hour job.

Yes if upon request, seat with leather can be polish not a problem. And Rim polish is already included in the services.

Actually we have been thinking of the mobile services, which you had suggested. The services we give are not a quick wash like what you said but rather a clean and polish one.

An hourly rate might be a good suggestion but what I'm worry is how many people is willing to spend so much money just to clean and polish a bike. An hourly rate would cost about $60 or more for a 4 to 5 hour job, which is not practical. But we can still do it upon rider request if he's willing to pay. Still we are concentrating on the clean and polish service that took us at least 1 to 1/2 hour to complete.

Thanks for your feedback and we will look into what we can to provide more.
