so far wat i know esso the comsumption is better than shell.... shell the fuel burn much faster than esso.... so actually its all depends on individual.... rite... cheers~ ;)

i was previously on esso 8000. getting 19-21km/l. now change to shell 98 is 20-21km/l. maybe is my own feeling. but feel bike smoother and lighter with shell. so now sticking with shell. somemore some station the air pump at every pump station. upz.

btw my riding style everyday open Vtec. open all the way from highway everyday with TPE. weekdays punggol TPE all the way to PIE connect ECP all the way open highway most of the times.

noticed that when i pump v power at shell near causeway consumption higher den when i pump at esso at causeway...esso reserver at 320 but v power hit reserver at 290...any one noticed this?

i think its a commonly known fact that vpower has less mileage than other brands... but i think it has to do with the throttle too... u throttle more, u use more... and since vpower makes u throttle happy, shud have lesser mileage ar... hahaha

juz my 2cts...

yupss.. either Petronas or BHP ... tseems like the two petrol brands are 'light' in weight.. this few days travel 80% highway 20% road, currently 278km, my s4 still left with 3bar while stationery, picking off drop to two bar, think will be two bar any sooner.. like 300km?

think i can hit 400km before reserve this time ...

Esso is better than shell. Shell petrol burns faster. Both are 95

My spec 1's consumption is around 22km/l to 26km/l, using V-power.

Am using Shell mainly because of convenience. (its along the way to my home) Not willing to detour or go out of the way to pump petrol for bikes. Also, I was previously using the Shell card that allows me to pay at the pump. So its swipe card, enter pin, then pump and go. No need to waste time queuing inside after pumping.

But otherwise, for my car, I only pump SPC 95. (Pump SPC because its said to be the cleanest, and pump 95 because I'm driving an old car)

From what I heard, based on the oil origins, SPC and Caltex should have the cleanest products, followed by Esso and lastly...ShXXX.....

However, do note that I'm pumping SPC only because its said to be the cleanest. Not because it gives the best mileage. What I do to get the most petrol for my buck is to:

1) Minimise my pumping frequency. Eg: Pump only when I'm reaching reserve, or is in reserve. Cause everytime we open the tank, a bit of petrol, (or "light ends" will evaporate)

2) Pump in the early mornings or at night after some heavy downpour. The idea is to pump when the petrol is at its coldest. Cause our petrol is charged by volume; and when its cold, the petrol contracts most. Hence we get more petrol for our money when we pump when its cold.

3) Dont pump too fast when refueling. The faster you pump, the more petrol evaporates. However, if you pump too slowly, especially during hot weather, the petrol will also evaporate. Hence you got to moderate the pumping speed.

4) Last but most most impt tip: Throttle in moderation la.. haha. This is what makes the difference between 22km/l to 26km/l.

From Honda's manual:

Just need to check with the people in the oil industry.

But my info isn't the most updated, and I didn't personally verify it. So things might have changed.
