Actually, I don't think the grade of petrol will affect idling that much. Try checking your sparkies, perhaps it is time to change them? Hmm, though I rarely pump anything below V-power. Interesting to note.

Zkull, you might wanna try Loois, that is where I gotten mine. Anyway, other places such as Bike Productions might have. However, you might wanna take note of the 8 hp difference between the '09 model plus newer models and the older models. I gotten mine, an '07 model last year June for 16.5k OTR from Loois. Freebies...only a pair of frame sliders.

The Gladius is also another naked bike, with, in my opinion more curves that edges, unlike the GSR 400. More suitable for lady riders. This bike also comes with ABS option like the GSR 400.

The specifications of the GSR 400 can be found on the first page of this thread and here is the specifications for the Gladius.

Boooo, Rex just wanna siam!! Haha. Anyway, if you guys are up for it. 7.30pm at KKFC? Perhaps til 10?

Hi guys... recently top up full tank of 92octane grade accidently again. Engine idling kinda fluctuating. Normally, either top up 95/98 octane grades. So, those guys using dis grade maybe can share ur experience if encounter same problem. I dun have any manual wif me, but I think dis could be to the minimum octane grade design for our GSR fuel combustion. An open discussion?

It is recommended to use fuel additives when using lower octane grades. It may cause slight engine knocking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_knocking). Your bike can still move thouigh, only feeling a bit sluggish. Flucuating idiling can be caused by many things. See if spark plugs is the cause (cheapest to replace when it comes to engine components).

Actually, I don't think the grade of petrol will affect idling that much. Try checking your sparkies, perhaps it is time to change them? Hmm, though I rarely pump anything below V-power. Interesting to note.

Long trips should not pose a problem. Will cause fatigue due to vibrations by the bike. The engine should be able to take it. Dun overstress it and do regular maintenance. It should serve you well. So far 3 years owning this bike. No major issue at all. Even 2B bike have reach Thailand.

It should handle light dirtroads nicely but do remember the tires are meant for tarmac. You may experience loss of traction to the back wheel. Until maybe one day someone in Japan put a traction control unit to the ECU. We can only wait and see.

Why are people so concern about this bike can win this bike....if wan to, get the new BMW S1000RR, one of the fastest production bike on the market. Then again, do you have the balls to hit top speed? Both bikes are 400cc, how fast can you push it anyway. Sorry have to be blunt, coz too many ppl with high egos on the road. Dun add on to the current accident fatality records. Ride the bike you like not the one that can win another bike. Example the frakenstein bike that was in MW (already removed). Too much power rider cannot control hahha.

As for Gladius, saw some on the road but all 600cc. I am not sure if them bring in Gladius 400cc. With Japanese Yen so high, even new GSRs can't be seen. No shops wants to bring them in.

Ego = add more power

Add more power = cannot control.

Cannot control = buang.

Buang = cost $$$. But $$$ used to add more power so no $$$.

No $$$ = let bike collect dust at shop.

Let bike collect dust at shop = interest goes up.

Interest go up = pay more $$$.

Pay more $$$ but still no bike to ride. Dont pay? Can. Let the shop sell your bike, offset the bill plus any outstanding loans. If you're lucky enough, proceeds can clear the loan. If not, lan-lan suck thumb pay installment for bike which someone else is enjoying. Feeling of that, super BEST.

So why bother beating other bikes? I was too, power crazy. Wasnt pleased my bike couldnt reach 210kmh. Luckily didnt buang. Realized license expensive to get and i have a family now so have to set my priorities right. Sorry for the abang-abang talk bright and early in the morning but i dont wish to see any of you crash and burn due to pitting each other's bike on the road. Flame me if you want, i dont give a sh*t.

I gotten my 08 GSR at $15.7k OTR. + interest for 2 yrs installment + ard $16.26k.

But with the recent increase in bike price, COE & insurance... chou chou can be winthin $16.5k to $17.5k OTR depending on age... plus installment everything whole bike comes to ard $18k minimum

Sorry i was afk for so quite awhile... well anyway.. if wannna meet up at KKFC.. why not make it this coming 16th or 17th Dec. I am in for it..

I guess it is all based on what you want to do with your bike. And accept the responsibilities that comes with it. Want power, go track and get a bigger cc bike. Not on the street. Yeah, what EJ had mentioned. Most of the time you would be just riding on the street, why would you wanna go excessively beyond the legal speed limit and run risk of going afoul with the authorities, in additional to a marked increase in personal risk? I believed that most riders riding locally would't have reached top speed here.

Given that the GSR and the S4 is both of Japanese make and of same displacement, you assume that they are almost the same in terms of road capabilities. However, it is you who would make a difference in choosing a bike and making it special.

I saw several Gladius and seriously made me think that this ride definitely is more suited to the opposite gender.

Haha, V-power from up North. Can't afford local petrol!

Good Evening,

If your key is tag with your current license plate so it should be a problems...if not then it shouldnt be a problem, the key are coded with a lots of numbers codes within the RFID Chip installed in it, Basicly everytime u plug in ya key, the ECU will reconized the Current code (the owners in hand key and the spare key which holds by thre shop ) and activates the fuel pump and other misc to start the bike... So if u intend to reprogram the keys make sure to program the spare key too, and by luck if u found your existing key, you have to go back to reprogram all the keys in order for you to use them accordly...

On the side note it's best to reprogram the keys so to prevent the lost key to be found and use it against your will...

Cheerio mate..:p

Thanks ..

Got it done .. its actually a smooth process. And I always wanted to have a spare one with me ...

FC = those pb1 to spec 3 yield better FC. dunno about revo

Handling = definately the GSR, rode the spec 3 fpr awhile while having the GSR

parts = super 4 definately. They're still currently the most marketable 2A bike

Price = revo n GSR are quite on par now

Safety = depends on who is riding

Hope that answers your questions :)

yes currently price between the GSR '08 or '09 model vs. the S4 revo or spec3(if you still can find it 1st hand). are on par.

But according to insurance company, S4 has a higher premuim..heard was becos more accident on the road involveing S4 thats why most insurance company charge higher for S4 rider...
