has anybody encounter their front brake lever has a sudden increase of freeplay of about 5-7 cm after parking for about 10 mins? ...

1st time it encountered today ... now my brake lights are always on cuz the lever need to constantly keep pushing out to switch off the brake lights.

not sure if its

1. the brake pads finish or

2. the brake oil fluid drop by so much suddenly

3. or somebody tamper with it (unlikely).

Easy Bro,have you checked your lever preset, alot of forumers have overlooked that at times.,Either than that are your pumps working?,btw they are supposed to last for 5 the least.

Is it normal to get ard 7rpm on gear 6 at 100km/h?

your front sprocket inccrease by 1 or 2 teeth is zit ?? normal is 6k 100km/h

How many teeth is stock sprocket?

Can anyone suggest me what givi box looks good w gsr400?

If rpm hits 7 at 100km does tht means for pickup or distance or neither?

I bought this second hand so nt so sure.

Stock sprocket is 15teeth front and 47(or 48? i forget...later count)teeth rear...if hits 7 at 100km/h, high probability for accelaration...

Only for 400cc...600cc I dunno.

With due respect, not planning to cross anyone line, just need to say this. About Yoshi vs Leo vs any other. Stock (53BHP at engine) horses at wheel will be 85% of 53 = 45 BHP. Thus the difference from BIO is 49/45 = 1.04% & 47/45 = 1.08%. Not even hitting 10% or 15%. Not to mention not hitting 600cc BHP. The difference is marginal and subjective. So my advice is get what you want. Performance still lies in the person (height/weight/guts/etc). Reason: It is quite easy to increase the horses. Juz by making the Air-Fuel mixture richer. I'm think how new the spark plugs and Engine Oil might affect the reading also.

As for sound, I always wonder if put metal whistles what sound it might makes hahahah Confirm higher DB + pitch. hahahah

Not going to any manufacturer's side. Ohh ya another note, to go faster can get higher CC bikes, its cheaper.

yeah not much of difference...but it givs the feel of tat a wee bit extra kick...heheh..or another way to make the pip louder...sick a copper pipe into the endcan(but make sure u secure it)...fuuuh...straight thru exhaust! but ive tried starting and revving the bike w/o endcan and the Y-pipe(in the safe confines of a workshop)...the sound a bit disappointing...but not recommnded though or u'll destroy the engine if prolong use...

If the red engine indicator is called Oil Pressure Warning Light. Thats for EO and not petrol. Can someone confirm this? Anyway if you keep 'abusing' the petrol tank, use until no drop left, get ready moni for new fuel pump. hahaha

Fuel pump? Tat is one expensive thing...the whole set costs $900+ wen last asked 1 yr ago...i had to change mine coz the regulator caused the pump motor to overpump...but the workshop i went to only changed the pump motor and regulator and it costs me much much less....

Thank guys! So confirm wen Petrol running low

- Only The Petrol Icon will blink

Reserve

- Final Bar and Petrol Icon will blink....

Testing my ride to see how far it can go bfore coming into reserve... :cheeky:

make sure wen u test ur there is a fuel station nearby...or else u wudn't wanna push this behemoth over a long distance...but a great workout though...

If i remember correctly 14T Front 47T Rear..:p,

You could buy hepco Becker 42 litres like some of the forumers are using , h&b explorer topbox really works...

Hi all,

I just got a 2nd hand GSR 400 and i have some noob questions as i am new to this bikes.

Can anyone recommend any workshops for servicing?? (can pm me the place and details like prices etc)

Whats the ideal idling rpm?? Mine is about 800rpm. And how do i set the idling??

There's also a problem, hope you guys can help me out.

- At times when i start, the bike starts however once i close throttle, the engine dies off. Is it due to cold engine??

- At times when i open and close throttle quickly, the engine also dies off. (At times on the move..) Temperature is at about 80 deg and also the bike is wet due to rain earlier.

Appreciate your kind advices.

Thanks all

Seems like ur idling is set too low..it does that this GSR(well most bikes do)..since urs is a 400, there will be a plastic cover on the left hand side of the engine. Take it off first, i think held by 3 or 4 allen screws and can be a b*tch to take out. Then look behind the frame(still on the left side), there will b a knob with grooves. Juz turn it to set ur idling...the plastic cover on my bike didn't went back on ever since i needed to set my idling for the third time...but its up to individual...

Well, finding a good workshop depends on a few factors. Like wher u live, what u r looking for, price wise....i'd recommend planet motors at Ubi, and do look for Ah Chong if ur ther..he will entertain u..i mean literally entertain u...but my personal preference is racewerks at bukit merah..coz its nearest to my house and at least they know wat they're doing...but feel free to go ard...unique is not bad too...

Most Air-Fuel Controllers are piggy-back, the common ones are Power Commander.

So many gadgets if you really wan to change/tune....it might be never ending also...hahahha....Can adjust TRE (Do google or search in SBF - too many time said, tired already), 'adjust' (maintain) tire pressure most important [or maybe Tire pressure monitor), 'adjust' sprocket size +/- (DO NOTE: the speedometer will have less/more error - use GPS + speedohealer to synchronise the speed), etc etc. Electronically got a few devices out there. Only moni is the problem hahah.

Adjust idling to 1.1k to 1.3k rpm as per manual. Its kind of silly that people still wanna keep the manual (juz give back with the bike la) since its in Japanese...hahahah

Go for DIY session or meet up session, the boys can do it for you...BEWARE....poisons all over the place when they are around.....

Lets say the fuel tank is 16.5 liters. So you said left 2 liters, that makes it 14.5 liters used up.

250 / 14.5 = 17.24 km/l

If not wrong the 600 can hit 18km/l. So should be around there. Also subjected to many factors like change of sprockets, air-fuel adjustments and not forgetting the amount of error produced by the speedometer.
