Chung7X > u looking for Sprint/Super body?, i may haf someone who wants to sell the body only, if ya interested i ask for u. Last time he intends to sell at 3.5k but i can try ask again. Its from an AF plate but not selling the plate. But i tinks its a VBB body coz of its round nose bridge with round body panels.

eh thats kindda cool! but for a peice of scrap metal 3.5 bit too steep dont u think? body, panels, headset??

VBB body is cool but the price set pple off....with 3.5k, you could buy a relatively good sprint....one was sold at TA for about 3.3k....

cosmetic upgrades are pretty hefy...think about it....

do look around b4 you decide....you might wanna ask TA or AJ to look out for you on classic body that pple wanna scrap....then you might get one cheaper...

like maz has mentioned...if the body does nt come with headset, panels, sidebox....it's gonna set you another 1 grand on those...

its called polishing da dey. just sanding onli and sometimes use buffing pen. but vespa shop neva see ppl use buffing pen to polish the internal. usually the crank area, the crank, the transfer ports.. this is to ensure smooth fuel flow.

You have to split the engine to do this also... hence may as well do a rebuild at the same time...

Port polishing won't give you any perceptable benefit... its just somehting that you may as well do when the engine is apart...

You'll be able to tell by looking at the frame... also by reading the frame's VIN number. Each model of Vespa has a unique number, with diff models having diff prefixes... PX is VSXIT (I think...)

Of course, this can be faked... Check that the VIN on the frame matches that on the Scooter's log card... Also check that the engine number matches... Lots of rip off pieces of turd polished to look like jewels out there...

No offence to anyone who rides a mod to classic here... I know none of you try to pretend what you are riding is anything other than that.

BTW Machine K... I was being honest when I said your new look was a good one... very slick and tasteful.. well done.

Yup..Sharpey and Gweeter's right on the spot there.

And Chung...Never buy anything that you are not sure of.

Ask around before you commit yourself.

Or you'd end up paying for more then you bargained for.

any engine split job is better to wait for a engine rebuild....then other stuff can be changed....like bearings, seals, gaskets, etc...

no point just split engine to polish...

cpehelix,

i tot AJ said your engine is fine? why is overhual needed?

engine rebuilt pricing is hard to gauge cos there are many little little bits and pieces (oils seals, bearing, gears, labour, etc) that may need to change and they can add up to quite a lot of $$$....

sharpey,

On the clutch gearing or gear setup (dont noe whether i use the correct term), what are you currently using? i am referring to those that malossi gear setup is 23/64....

Any knowledge of these? need some enlightenment...

from my understanding, the gearing should be matched and 21 is generally for better pickup...

gwee> not much of us knows abt the gearing calculation. damn complicated. i asked here and there cannot get concrete answer. was trying to put a 200 gearing in the 150 case, but some say can some say not possible. as for the primary gearing (if not wrong thats wats it called) since u at TA on sat u can have a look at her display. think she got 2 set up. 23/64 and another one. cant remember and i kindda mixed up both of them.

So when will the scrap yard excursion be held? looking forward to that. bet some of us are eager to unearth some treasures from there. value for money. the daiso for vespa. hahaha
