dude.. your fuel cap has no lock or anything right? aren't you afraid of people just opening it up and inserting foreign objects?

I was considering the seats too.. but the fuel cap thing put me off...

Too paraniod ah.... got fuel cap with lock one right?

yes, there are some fuel caps with locks....

alternatively, you can get the lock system as shown in my pics...

the lock system covers part of the fuel cap that prevent anyone from opening....

Leyland, i tink iamcarlos cant really recall coz its abt 2 weeks oredi n he didnt look at it properly. Its best u go down TA and take a look. there are other seats there. U cant ask them how much labour they charge for fitting the seat for u. Usually no labour charge lah since u buy from them mah :o)

Posted

leyland > the fuel tank cap with lock costs $15 at TA last time i checked. but if u getting single seater then can make it like gwee's scoot, which covers part of the cap so it can't be opened without unlocking the seat.

gwee >buying tools too?call me if you are going to buy.93360364

sharpey > thanx for the info...will check these 2 places out...

Iamcarlos....

Bitubo shocks are super smooth with pretension and damping adjusters... but they will burn 600 out of your pocket for a set of two... Not sure if you'll be able to get a front bitubo for your fork here (diff shock to that used on 2 legged forks), but the rear should be less of a prob.... If you want my honest opinion, Bitubo are overkill, but well worth it if you want to prioritise handling and stability (as I have on my scoot along with other mods to help stop rear-end jiggle)....

Sebac shocks are a good bet, made in Italy (actually licensed by Piaggio to make shocks for the newer PX Vespas)... You'll need to import from overseas though, or convince a shop to import.

here's a pic from scomo .net

Rear Shock Sebac - Most Vespas

[sebac]

[sCOMO Part Number: V08-613]

$89.99

http://www.scomo.net/images/catalog/vespa/08/6/mediumimage/V08-613.jpg

Adjustable. Sporty. Far better rear suspension than your stock rear shock, and pretty much a whole new world from your current old, blown out one! You really cannot go wrong with the Sebac rear shock, which fits just about all large and smallframe Vespas (not PKs). Realize just how squirrelly your old shock really was.

Make sure you examine the buffer at the top of your rear shock. Most old scoots that we take apart for restoration have a completely useless chunk of ex-rubber up there. If you are building a scooter that needs to have the best suspension bang for the suspension buck, skip the standard item and go for the revolutionary Clauss Studios version (V08-630CS). You will not be sorry that you decided to do so!

Nuff said.

my back shocks are those india ones...not too sure whether they are from escort...

well as long as it doesnt not affect my stability when riding...i am fine with it...not too concern...unless i have spare cash or kena 4D/TOTO...then i would consider the rear bitubo....

Look under your vespa cephelix... there's only one spring there....

And about the spanners... "separately" from what?

only one?oooo....

ahahaha...again i learn something new...

sharpey > spanners sold separately from the bag???

gwee > gabriel shocks $30 each? do tell....free during weekends

or after 6

gabriel shocks $30 each?

the front shocks are selling about $30 at TA and there is only one....

so where does the "each" come from?

as for the spanner set...the whole set of spanners comes WITH the bag.....

there are shops selling per piece...

i reckon i would consider the one Sharpey has....my old spanner set is still with me but its kinda all over the place...

the standley ones are neat and tidy...good to keep it on your scoots...
