No worries for the kaypohness....

will welcome any comments be it good or bad...

Bead Blasting? can you elaborate further?

external or internal or both?

Price and place to do it?

I will be asking the mechanic to polish up the internal of the crankcase before fixing on all the parts....as for the external, i can just polish up later so that it is clean and pretty...

Even have tots of chroming my engine external but drop the idea as it is rather costly....will invest the money on restoring the rest of my scoots....

marciano,

Sorry for my late reply....just came back from perhentian....went SCUBA diving...sweet!!

your mechanic overhauled your bike? probably he did the necessary only...

stock stuff...

just by reading this vespa thread gives u heaps of ideas to mod your bike already...there are other links when goes into details....go check them out....

modding your engine depends on individual....depends what you want out of your "mods"....

you might wanna try getting a bigger carbs first (you can check out Sharpey thread on the carbs to understand more...it's extremely detail).....let your bike breathe more and feel the difference....24/24 carbs....should be less than S$100....than you might wanna try changing your block and pistons....there are a few types of block and pistons you can change to but it all depends on your needs....try pinasco for a start....plug and play....

picks up the mods slowly and reading on webbies helps you understand heaps on the mods.....

my bike shop? Tong Aik.....

if you engine has the soft rattling noise of the pistons & rings against the block....guess the rings might be worned out.....

the worned out piston rings rubs against the walls of the block and also reduces the effectiveness of the whole combustion cycle....less power...

also, if your rings are worn out over a long period of time without any thing done to it....probably your block is gone too....

since you are using the pinasco block....you can't re-bore it so u might need to change the whole set....overhaul....haiz!!

go get it checked out by your mechanic immediately....he should know by looking at it....

lambretta price is very high in singapore .... but from what i think, its worth it lah ..

the feeling of riding a lambretta is so much different from a vespa ...

anyway ...

this sept im taking part (me not riding lah .. have my own rider,i do the engine only) in Pasir Gudang race ... wish me luck huh ... now buzy tuning the engine to maximum performance ...

Read on Scooterbbs today about a Singaporean in Bali doing the scooter thing... As far as I can gather, he's trying to restore Vespa's there to a high standard and export them.... He mentioned having a SX150 lambretta... I bet you wouldn't pay 10,000 for one in bali.....

Shame that import duties are so damn high in Singapore....

Must buy 4D.

Well, I checked the LTA ruling last time, even if you want to import a bike that's more than 3 years old, it's not possible. Even if you have the moola. Sucks eh? Just gotta wait for the new Lambretta to come on out. Apparently they're branding it under the scomadi brand, not lambretta. Sounds pretty bleak to me, I wonder if they'll even keep the old vintage outlook. The engine will be an automatic, that is for sure... The new lambretta is long overdue for release. Crap.

If i am not wrong.

LTA cannot stop you from import.

but your bike can never be on road in SG.

meaning you can own the bike for display only.

so if anyone is really crazy about lambretta as a collector display item .:sian:

can get it oversea.

Checked in 2005, there were only 16 lammys in Singapore. What's the point of owning one when you can't ride it? It's really a dumb ruling, someone should really hammer those people who came out with such rules. Well, unless you ride it illegally, the consequences I'm sure will be unforgiving. *sigh* It's hopeless.
