which shop told you that? I'm really curious. Coolant is not sulphuric acid.

my fan spoiled le.. some time reali feel e heat very high so worry tat may over heat or other damage cos by e heat..

My fan never work before...only worked once after servicing and changing of EO..cos damn hot....then nvr work at all again. normal?

ya you must go and check your coolant and the radiator or else something drasctic will happen

juz change my coolant to maxima.

end up paying 108 for everything. wat u guys think?

15 for worksmanship

20 for maxima coolant

45 for coolant container (orignal honda)

28 for coolant cap (orignal honda)

 

thought the container and cap cheap cheap so didnt ask price initally. think kanna cut

Your coolant system really needs some thorough flushing judging by the color.

Do also clean up the coolant container as it could contain algae or persistant stain...

ha. i hav the prob last time.. althought the bike didnt overheat even in jam.. then i go flush.. those coolent in the bike is green, jus like new de.. is jus the reservoir tank is in coke colour...

 

so in the end is stil up to u..

coolant container dun need to change de mah... jus wash the internal can le.

coolant cap, any normal ratings one only cos less than 10 bucks.

normally aftermarket or better products when you change it, you may experience the placebo effect of it being better than what you previously used.

 

but my experience told me, once you change the particular product to normal ones. you will definately feel the diff.

 

in simpler terms:

when you upgrade, you may make yourself feel the diff as you are paying more for the better product.

when you downgrade, you really can feel the diff as you are too used to the better product.

 

my example was when i'm using Engine Ice. just recently changed back to normal green coolent, the fan just kept on turning on every trip and i could really feel the heat.

hi guys.. i did coolant flush 1 month ago.. yesterday while travelling engine very hot.. temp light lights up in jam.. after that open reservoir see got water.. rev abit water still there.. after that off engine and awhile later realise reservoir empty.. any idea whats wrong ??

"Coolant flush"..or "Coolant system flush"?..what did you do or meant by coolant flush?

 

"temp light lights up in jam.. "....you have reach the overheating point?..did your fan cut "on"?

The first time you see it because there is pressure in the coolany system but when it cool off and settle down..it all sits in the soolant system. Hope your mixtures ratio is correct whe you last change..motoshop did for you or yourself?

 

What you can do now is drained out all the coolant again, take off the fuel tank and access the radiator cap and pour in new coolant (get the premixed one..that's no need to mixed yourself). Once radiator full..start your bike and rev a bit and wait till its hot and top up coolant mixtures again till you see overflowing when the bike engine idles. Shut the engine, put back radiator cap and go filled the reserve coolant reservoire to 2nd level indication (make sure your bike is upright). From here on..monitor situation again.

 

Still got problem..come back here...I suggest stage two.

okay. thanks ah pek. anyway, the last time was done by bike shop using maxima cool aide. it comes only in premixed right ? so ratio i suppose shouldn't be a problem.

4get about stage two now lah..old fingers very lazeee 2 type Tot you selling off your Ver S olehdee!!!?

 

Takiing off the tank is a simple task lah. I think all can do except you...LOL!

 

1) Use yur key to open up seat.

 

2) Depending om model of S4..there is a bolt or two at end of tank where it meet the seat front. Size 12 I think.

 

3) On your left side mid under tank..pull of the fuel and vavcum tube. Don't asked me what tubes..they are both connected to the fuel kork. If your's is S4 or PB1..switch the tap to "off" position. By right, if you don't level "off"..there should be no petrol flow from your fuel tube also unless your diaphragm is bad olehdee (got kit set..can change).

 

4) Go to your right side below tank..there is a pair wire connector, detach it. Its your fuel gauage sensor connection and one end is attached the tank (that's why you have to take it off).

 

5) Now..lift the tank from the back upwards and use the other hand to hold the top center end..slide back a bit and lift it upwards.

 

Note: There are supposed to be two rubber hose attached under the tank (mostly missing in second hand bike)..one is a "overflow" which is the alrge one and the other, half the dimeter size is the "bleeder" tube..you have to take it off if you have them still.

 

Good luck and don't drop that tank
