How many of u here never bought a class 2a bike before but just bought a class 2 bike straight?

If so, is it a big jump from class 2b to class 2 straight?

i KNow we do ride a class 2a bike in d centre while taking our 2a license. BUT Im talkin abt those who NEVER bought a 2a bike but kept their 2b bike for say 2 years and got a class 2 bike straight. Got any of u like that? Did u regret or not regret doin such a thing?

Share ur experiences pls.. thanks =)

"Search" is your best friend.

But consider carefully before proceeding. "Best thing" is that, the first day you get your 1000cc YamaKawaHonZuki Deathray machine.. moving off, you throttle it the same way you would your puny little Spark....

wad i m saying if u know high chance u cant do it, jus get a class 2a bike, no point waiting for 2 yrs n den u cant do it.

most girls can ride class 2 bike, but for many gals, pushing and lifting the big diversion is the killer

i jump straight from a class 2b bike to a class 2.

why?

1) not much choices in 2A bikes.

2) no point buying a brand new 2A bike for a year then change to another bike.

3) motorcycle is not my main daily mode of transport.

i remember after i got the bike from the shop, the ground was abit wet.

it was quite slippery on the tile floor.

i need to make a left turn, as usual i throttle off.

the rear wheel lost traction and skidded abit to the right.

like when you saw in the movie, where the rider jam the rear brake and skidded to make a quick turn.

seriously, i can tell you. my heart nearly jumped out, it was already at my throat.

think it could be due to the wet tile floor and the "wax" on the new tyres.

Haha i tried to ride my fren'z 1800cc bike. I tell you it's super super super duper heavy. Even the handle bar is super heavy. He told me juz get used to it. I'm riding a cub so suddenly test a 1800cc cruiser is almost a killer.

If your ultimate goal is to get a class 2, forget about getting a class 2a. Save ur money.

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

i think you should get a class 2A eventhough you only got to ride a year. get used to the weight and power and most of all experience on the road on a bigger bike. The way you handle a 2 B bike is quite different to a 2A or 2 bike. You know we all ride our 2B bikes like bicycles sometimes, alot of bad habits because we know our legs can still support the weight when we lose balance etc. When it comes to 2A and 2 . No chance. You don't ride properly, you're going to suffer. I used to ride a 100kg bike and now a 200plus kg bike. World of difference. Yes you will lose some money, maybe $1000 or so when you sell, but the experience gained is priceless.Would you rather fall off your 2nd hand 400cc bike then your shiny new class 2 bike if it ever happens?

If you have a Class 2 bike in mind, skip the 2A phase. I jumped from a Phantom to a CBR600F4i. No issue at all.

You'll be using a big bike in the driving centre for your Class 2 lessons, so riding a big bike of your own won't feel totally foreign.

Well, unless you get Triumph's Rocket III....

I would said is really a big jump in power as for weight the latest cl2 bikes now all weight less than a Super 4.

If you jump from 2b to 1000cc supersport...You have enough power to kill yourself. In fact sometimes more power will make you even slower.

I am thinking of going back to 600cc soon after I realised I spend more time controlling the power on my 929 during cornering rather than concentrating on it...

But for those who think top speed matters, then the above opinions are BS to you...

You have to know what you really wanted..The insane power of todays 1000cc is really much for most of us...

Power is nothing without control... so they say.

Actually, power can be a handful without control. It can kill.

Better to take things progressively and learn that control, don't you think?

I fully agreed that why I am thinking of going back 600cc. For my case i am really slower when on a 900cc..or is just me...

I cant fully open the throttle when exit the corner, and is a pain ride on SG road cos of the higher gear ratio. I am sure those who ride 1000cc cant move to the top gear when you are at 40-70km/h. But for 600cc no problem as the rpm is at 2500-3500rpm which is enough not to feel the engine "rocking" unilke the >900cc bikes had >2000rpm at this speed.

For those who boost about the latest 1000cc model they had but have load of chicken strip on the tires....I am there are alot of riders falls under this kind of cat...just fast on the straight i would say....hee hee nothing for me to respect. Except the "bling" factor..

i feel the 1k cc bikes has more torque, dun really need to always down gear to acclerate when cruising.

I know there is more than enough, what i meant is the rocking for the engine at highest gear at low speed. Torque alone wont cure that.

So if a person managed to endure class 2a and get a class 2 bike. You guys suggest a 600cc first rather then a 1000cc bike right? Cos i think the difference of 400cc is a lot of torque.

if u wanna get a class 2 , don't bother with 2A.

advice is to go straight to class 2 but u gotta note the difference is power & weight. COntrol the bike and get use to it 1st. Dun need to say much, take care of yourself 1st cos life is precious b4 anything else.

why i say so cos i went from 2B to 1000cc ... all you need is to ride carefully and throttle carefull ...after 1-2 months , u will get use to the bike.

Note: 1000cc bikes are really powerful so be careful once again

Don't waste time and money la. U already got enough practice where you are.

Just ride and learn. I also last time chew cheng kia when first few times ride the 1000. After a week or so, I adjusted to the powerband and response.

As for chicken strips, all I can say is... find the right place to clear it... and for fcuk sakes!! Use good tyres!
