hey nouvo riders,

i need to know some information about the nouvo (Elegance), cos im getting one prolly in january. anyway im an s4 rider, now want to lepak and ride an auto motorbike.

ok the information i need:

1) Fuel Consumption (stock)

2) Top speed

3) Maintenance

4) Accessories

5) Can "cruise" at 100-110km/h?

6) What are the standard mods people always do (speed and better riding)?

7) I got see this one mod, they change the handlebar to the naked one with a Fino speedometer, possible in SG?

Posted

1-150km/4litre

2-120kmh

3-affordable, parts original only. ducs will be more expensive.

4-too many accs

5-90kmh comfortable but maintain 100-110kmh from Port dickson to sg besi would be no problem.

6-suspension-get stiffer fork oil, adjustable soft-hard rear abs.

there are racing variator n rollers, clutch spring n torque spring to get better throttle response.

7-no idea

welcome to the group yanero. the standard 16" rims are a good balance for the bike. don't see any reason why you should up-size it.

Posted

y2k-yuppss, n if u got malossi/polini 1, do pm me the pric3. i want it too.

yanero-i agree with uncle statement. if u really want to change to a bigger rim, try racing boy. they got 17'' for Nouvo or else just get any yamaha 17'' but slight modification need to be done on rear wheels.

Hi Expert,

My Bike ODO meter still below 800KM, but I feel that the motor bike is start vibrate, and especially at 60KM/h (gro gro sound at the engine area). Is this normal? I am first time driving scooter.

Should let you test drive, anyone leave near Jurong Point? can help test drive?

I realised some issue with the earlier formula. Had re-adjusted it. 42+ consistantly is not an issue. On the few days that I take highways, it jumped to 47+. Maybe I always ride single?

I think our Nouvo really meant to be economical. Most shops will ask you to service or change this and that earlier, cos that's where they make money. Just follow the recommended schedule in the user's manual will do.

thanks! most of the time i also single ride too. would the suspension be a factor. i just find the stock suspension not good enough. anyway, how much air did u pump? perhaps that might be a factor eh? and have you done anything to improve its fc? the most i've tried is 200km but must push the bike to petrol station and then top up 4.6l. lucky petrol station nearby only. :cheeky:

1-190km(around 4-4.5 l)

2-115kmh

3-damn easy la! only go shop to change spark plug and engine oil. every 2 mths or 3300km for servicing of engine oil for me. every 10000km change spark plug and gear oil. no prob with that

4-dunoe.

5-can but no point. petrol consumption very fast at that speed(according to me la). 80-90km/hr can get good fc!!

6-i think suspension la. it's damn lousy. others got a lot!

7-SG maybe not, but malaysia boleh

yeah.. i also wanna know. probably need to change my front soon!! was never changed before during the bike's 1.5 years of age. the rear was changed once though.

how much was that? cos the YSS was quoted at $215 incl installation.

hi friends, selling my beloved Nouvo Elegance. Do let me know if there are friends interested. Definitely good buy!

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268984

i saw that u have an upgraded front brake disc. is it as easy as buying a bigger brake disc and just replace the old one? and did u buy it for the nicer look or better performance? i'm not so sure what kind of brake disc are available for nouvo. or is it the same as other kupchais?

btw, any of you guys know of any good bike shop in Hat Yai, Thailand selling nouvo stuffs? i might be going there at the end of the month so it will be great if i can buy stuffs there. perhaps can save a lot but i'm not too sure how much savings will that be. but i'm planning to buy a brake disc and rear suspension there if there's significant savings. and if there is, i would like to get the parts for the rebelting thingy. i just need to get rollers and what else eh? cos the price quoted is $120 in sg. not sure again how much it will cost in thailand. any guys with experience here?

The bigger 12" disc gives better braking performance as there's more contact surface per revolution, hence more frictional force. Fixed by shop. Doesn't look to difficult.

wooo!! power la! like that, i'll definitely get one in hat yai! $125 is cheap leh!

ohh.. i worry if i must change the bracket or something to accomodate the brake disc. what u mean by 12"? i thought stock nouvo is 220mm? so what's the ideal size for a nouvo eh? 250mm or 280mm? cos perhaps, i'll just grab a size 250mm or 280mm from thailand. this one should be much cheaper also!

You should get one made for Nouvo so that the mounting holes are correct. However, bracket for the brake caliper is needed to accomodate the bigger disc. I only measured the diameter of the disc. It's at least 2" wider than stock.
