How to put a modified tank? Where to buy?

buy? no... u got to make them. they'll cut your fuel tank, then weld in to join the extended tank.

Actually, it is for my refuelling in SG. don't wish to keep refilling every 3 days...

Can ah? How many litres? Where to buy?

Since the Esso station is so near, just sign up for Speedpass and refueling is like F1 pit stop :)

Have from 2L to 20L army Jerry cans... Autobacs, Carrefour or any local hardware shop. Important is must not be bigger than a helmet as need to fit in the underseat.

Since Nouvo's tank is just beside the underseat storage, have big potential to double the tank through welding.

I do not think it's worth the effort... as the helmet space below the seat could contain not much petrol, thus saving is not much. Yesterday I pump at JB on the way home. I put in only RM 5. The Nuova tank is only 4.9 litre.

Yamaha Nuova is made in Malaysia, and many young girls are riding it. The spare parts are plenty and cheap. My V-belt and complete rollers set cost RM180 (S$76).

For nouvo elegance 135 or nouvo S?

Most of the Nouvo Series are using the same V-belt and rollers.

They were very popular in Malaysian small towns in the early 2000, whereas not so popular here, as it is commonly known and "Girls' Bike". Most of the parts are made in Malaysia, and that's the reason they are so economical and good.

For nouvo elegance 135 or nouvo S, i've check with Hong Leong before. this 2 bikes do not share the same belt and rollers.

for the 135, the rollers are a lot more expensive but very lasting. should be able to last abt 30 000km to 40 000km.

Mr Old Rider had rode his Nouvo for 6 years already. so that confirm cannot be the Nouvo elegance 135.

Since u rode your Nouvo for 6 years already, i suppose yours is the Nouvo S. The Nouvo elegance 135 under seat is actually kinda big. able to fit in 1 open face helmet. so converting it into a fuel tank is a big plus.

but i rather save the hassle & complication by visiting the petrol kiosk more often.

My Nouva is the first one produced by Hong Leong (M) in 2002. When I rode to change the V-belt and roller, the motor shop got it from Yamaha Agent and I saw the packaging (original) as parts for 135. Comparing with my old one, the V-belt looks thicker and the rollers are heavier. On riding back home, I could feel the difference. Acceleration more responsive and smooth.

I called HL at Paya Lebar... the price for V-belt is $42 and they do not have stock of the roller sets. I think JB carry more parts for Nuova.

My Nouva is AT115 made in Malaysia in the year 2002. I registered it in 2004 May and is still going strong! With the servicing and changes, my bike is like brand new. Luckily I changed my mind in trading with the Motor Cycle shop in Bukit Merah for only $300!!

I wanted to trade in for a FLY, and they will take in my Nouva for only $300 giving the excuse that it's not a popular bike. They only give me a little above the COE rebate value! Real day light robbery!

Going to JB for pumping petrol is actually not my intention. As my bike is due for inspection in May, and moeover the mileage is just above 20,000 km (6 years old), I have to change the V-belt & rollers, tires, brake pads, air cleaner, engine and gear oil. I rode in to JB to have it done.

With the following services done, now riding the bike is like a new bike.

Oh. Is there anyone going JB? Can I tagged along?

Nouvo is a simple bike and very easy to service. The regular changing of engine oil, cleaning air filter, plug... I think most shop can do. In case of doubt send to HL at Paya Lebar... only $42 for complete check including washing of bike. Of course, you may ride in to JB which is cheaper and at the same time have some makan at Stulang (facing the Straits) and on the way back pumping petrol... less than RM5 full tank!
