I will make a picture once have the forward control extension kit installed -- I hope to do it tonight :slurp:

Gents, does anyone have a spare Steed seat for sale? It can be worn/torn/cut/..., I just need its plastic base.

Hello colleagues!

As promised, here comes the update on last fixes to my Steed.

Finally, the last night, I installed the forward controls extender kit I recently got on eBay from scootworks.

I decided to take a non-extreme 4" version, black painted, as believed it fits the exterior better.

The kit came with full set of metal stuff (including an extended brake rod), strong, light and beautiful.:

I was a bit worried if the kit designed for US-make VLX fits JP-make VLS but fortunately everything went just fine.

The next step, I guess, will be dropping the rear and replacing the original seat with something flat and low.

I like your curiosity :)

Yes, I have got the lowering kit for the rear shock (thanks to Sprint74!) but I haven't installed it yet.

Unfortunately I don't have proper tools to do it myself at home, although the installation is pretty simple.

I hope to do it when I will be changing tires -- guys from Unique_Motorsports shop say the new tires will be in a week or so.

So I plan to ask them for help in installing the kit, hopefully they have proper tools.

desagogo, if you want we may go to the shop together, so you may see how it goes :)

Hey desagogo, I have got a confirmation from Unique_Motorsports that they received my tires, so I'm going to go to their Kaki Bukit shop tomorrow (Saturday, 23rd) to do a service, I guess early afternoon.

I also hope to convince them to install the lowering kit meanwhile.

Hi Steed Owners,

Anyone has done a make over for their steed? Things like new paintwork, chrome parts, patching of exhaust pipes, etc.

If you do, kindly let me know the bike shop. Thank you.

Hi All,

It has been my wish to custom a bobber with a 2A bike. My plan to the look of it is to have a spring front fork and fat broad rear tire, twin exhaust.

Which bike is most suitable to start with?

Initially I thought a Steed Springer is the only bike that have the spring fork, but recently I saw some people adding a spring fork to a Dragstar. Is it strict legal to add a spring fork to a dragstar?

Also does a Dragstar have broader rear tire than a Steed Springer?

Any comments is welcome! Thanks!

Basic googling says Dragstars (400) have same stock rear tires as Steeds: 170/80-15.

I recently replaced old Dunlop 404's with new Metzeler 880 set and I am very happy with the change. The bike handles way better, no more silly grooves following (I have 90/90-21 front tire on my springer, maybe it is not a case for fatter 19" wheels).

To my view a stock Steed swingarm (all VLxxx models share same frames) would technically fit a 200 tire, but I am not really sure about it.

As for the mods.... To my limited knowledge LTA considers chopping a bike, well, riding a chopped bike, as a fatal violation. Can you imagine, the first thing the LTA guy verified when I had my first inspection half year ago was a presence of the sub frame under the rear fender!

It is crazy and very sad, but here in SG real mods are de-facto street illegal :pity: You may create your bike but you will never be allowed to legally ride it.

Kan, if you were not afraid of LTA, I would recommend a stock Steed to start building a custom bike.

Check out Japanese resources (e.g., Yahoo Japan Auctions), those guys have a rich history of modding Steeds, you may get some inspiration there.

Good luck!

There are a couple of guys unloading their bobbed steeds on carousell..most of them said they had to put the tails back on for inspection..so alittle hassle for me..

Yeah I love the bobbed out rides but like ezr said..those white termites can bite..o_O

sprint74 - you had your steed for a long time...5 yrs?

Thanks bros for the replies. What happen when caught by termites for a bobber? Fine with demerits?

I saw a few on Carousell, but price looks kind of steep, 6-8K for COE ending 2018-2020.

The Yakuza dragstar I saw in this forum looks damn cool
