Anyone had their plug caps changed? ... :sian:

Any advise, Steed Bros?

You mean spark plug caps right? The cable that covers the plug which sends electricity to fire the plug?

Did you need to remove your fuel tank to change the plug caps?

I wanted to change two of mine to the red colour NGK racing plug caps...looks nice.

I am a Honda bike lover:-

Honda CRM 125, Honda Cub C70, Honda Steed 400VSE

Honda Shadow Slasher 400, Honda XR125L, Honda XR400RW

Honda SuperCub C90 single seater (vintage ride - 43km/l)

Honda NC700X (Smooth tourer around Indochina)

Honda CRF250L (Enduro - 30km/L)

Din get to see it but i dont think so. My mech wont go thru that trouble to do it esp its not neccesary.

On my check at Rosli, he pointed out to me a 'round rubber piece' situated at my carburetor. Told me that the rubber has hardened and can't be tightened any further and is causing air to leak in, not gd for fuel-air intake ratio.

What's this rubber seal and any idea on the cost? Is stripping the carb for $20 worth it.. that's the price quoted to me on top of the $40 for the rubber seals.

Need to change it bro.. If air leaks in your air:fuel mixture will be too lean and will cause potential damage to ur engine.. $20 for carb service is very reasonable, cos he already have to remove out the carb to change the rubber manifold.. Say if you were to go service your carb alone next time will be more ex i think, cos have to strip everything again..

Bros, question on signal light timing. I changed my rear to an aftermkt pair, while my front signals are stock.

The timing is a tad too fast for my liking. From what I gather from another thread, I should get a 'condenser'. How much would this cost n does LAB sell this? If say I change my signal lights again, can I still make use of the same condenser n re-time my signal lights?

yes have to change the condenser.. If you change back to stock signal light and it doesn't blink den have to change back to original condenser again.. Not hard to DIY. It's on the right penal if I remember correctly.. I bought one for my Rebel 125 a few years back, less den 10bucks I think..

Hi Troy437, I e-mailed thebikeyard and the say got old headlamp from scrapped Steed. Just replied him asking for the price.. Will let you know when he get back..

Anyone here riding a Steed with plate FL559**?

Kao. You're everywhere. hahaha. We need to clean up the forum.

Anyway, Both steed and shadow more or less the same. FC wise and speed. Engine all same. Main difference is the weight so obviously Steed can go faster. But again, Shadow cos of the weight, it's more stable.

Starting i ride like ah gua at 90 km/hr or lesser, FC is 24km/l.

For the record, I use Shell Vpower all e way.

Much better than my steed - looks like i need to sort out the leaks here n there to hv optimum engine performance.

V-power isn't it a designer fuel as most tuners claimed.

Bros, question on which other bikes front rim can fit a steed's?

I am looking for a 'sports' rim for my front rim. Any suggestions?

If I change to a 18 inch rim and tyre, how will performance be affected? better FC because smaller rim radius?

I am looking at the Honda Magna 250 front rim to see if it fits a Steed. The 250 rim is a three shaft design and not steel spookes. therefore quite sporty look to match my VSE steel plate rim. The Magna 250 front tyre is also thicker, but I am not sure of the rim size. If it is smaller than Steed, than cant use liao.

whatever it is, my bike is working fine and faster.

If it is bad for engine, Shell will not sell it and let user sue them a few years down the road right?

At this point i am still a Vpower supporter:cheer:

Hey Troy. thebikeyard replied my e-mail already.. Quoted $50 for the old headlamp.. I think it's ex cos he quoted me $20 for a pair of old rider footpegs!! Think we go scrapyard find beter, cos this wan like more highclass..

I haven't monitor the FC for normal city riding yet.. But I've beer riding from

Tamp to Tuas and back the past few days and FC for 90% highway riding is 27.2km/l on Shell 92 cruising at 90-100km/h..

Maybe can check the wheel spacing first.. If it's the same then got to see if the brake disc is align with the caliper.. A few years back a fellow forumer modded his Shadow slasher and put on the wheels and brakes from his R1.. That was really sick.. With help from Rosli of cos..

Actually FC will be about the same.. You'll think that your getting better FC cos with the smaller wheel your odometer will clock more km compared to stock wheel.. if you change wheel size you got to change the speedometer also.. alternatively you can use a bicycle digital speedometer as you can calibrate the wheel size on it..
